Playgrounds are updated and have plenty for any busy family. Lots to do, swimming pool has a slide. They even have a miniature BMX park. Great place to get your kids out. The people in the community are very friendly. Playground: The Playgrounds are updated and safer then us 90's kids had. Restrooms: Restrooms are ok, definitely older style by the playgrounds. Dog-friendliness: Normal park rules pick up after you're pet and keep them leashed. Picnic area: Decent construction on the picnic tables. Both wooden and metal. Majority of the metal tables are located under shade, which is a huge plus for summer fun.
Nice..... very nice! Lots of picnic shelters, play areas, walking paths. Stopped to cook myself a brunch; not wanting to eat restaurant food today. Thoroughly enjoyable.
We walked around the pond and through the gardens. It is beautiful. You can fish or feed the ducks and geese. There is also an apothecary you can tour. I loved it.
20230520 Discovered that this park has a disc golf area in the woods, a large circular trail with fitness station. All paved. Very dogfriendly and people here are very nice. Great spacious park with nice paved trails. Very clean. The Korean, MIA, and POW memorials are also there. The memorials are worth seeing. Dogfriendly too!!
I've only used the park for disc golf. The course is challenging and has long and short layouts. Downside is there are a lot of other amenities meaning many holes have people on or near them at peak times. Park has a pool, multiple play grounds, baseball fields, many pavilions, and at least 1 dog park. Park looks well maintained and pretty clean.
I love this park. There is lots to do with exercise equipment at various locations throughout the park. There are scenic trails and walking trails. There is very cool frisbee golf course as well as a swimming pool and fields for baseball, football, and soccer. There is something for everyone at this park. Definitely recommend.
A really nice park. There is plenty of open space, picnic tables, a mini-golf course, a pool, disk golf, and plenty of play areas for children. It also has a nice bike trail that is well marked. The rest rooms could use a make over but all in all this is a Frederick County treasure.
Wonderful time at the pool at Jim Barnett Park. I paid 4 dollars for myself and 2 teen daughters. There are tables but we just laid out towels in the grass and it was better for us. There were a lot of swimmers but you don't feel overcrowded and can't move. They also have a slide and diving board for the more adventurous people. I also think they have a lane for laps also. Well that's what it looked like so don't quote me on it. We had a wonderful day and also had cold pizza from the snack bar. If I had to complain that would be it. Although my teens weren't bothered by it.
What a lovely park! The bigger loop is about half a mile while the smaller loop is a quarter of a mile, but slightly more challenging because of the zig zag on the hill. This park has multiple free gym equipment among the trail, benches, and pavilions.
Very big nicely maintained park with a variety of amenities such as baseball fields, pavilions, disc golf & a pool Playground: Kids will love it Restrooms: There are a few on the premises Dog-friendliness: Dogs are welcome on leash Picnic area: Several pavilions available with grills
