Great people have great patience and understanding
Was hesitant before going because of the reviews but my visit went pretty smooth. The lady at the window was nice and helpful. I was able to take care of 1 of 2 of my vehicles paperwork. Only thing is I had to wait outside with my child because of COVID procedures. I have yet to go back one more time for my 2nd vehicle so I hope I don’t have to change my review for the worst.
This place has a good system. Too bad the women behind the counter are not too enthusiastic in doing their job. As I sit here I have seen them deal with two customers and then get up and take a break. Then stop and talk to another co-worker while customers are waiting. The lady in window 7 is the worst offender. Please fix this!!!! Our Taxes pay for their service!
I was there for more than an hour just to get my inspection sticker. There is 14 windows at the facility yet only 4 were open. The employees show no urgency in trying to get the customers out of there as soon as possible. To top it off we have to pay an extra fee for using a debit/credit card. Why are you charging the customer for using a debit/credit card. We already pay enough taxes thru out the year to have to cover your fees for using that system. It is very frustrating to see you employees move at such a slow pace and just not care about the customers.
Lady was pleasant given me the correct information
The JP Clerk's Office has gotten a lot better. The last few times I went in, they were courteous and helpful. What used to take 20 minutes to file only took approximately 5 minutes. They also only used to have ONE person trained to handle certain types of filings....now they have more trained people.
The Jim Fonteno Annex is home to six different County agencies. Many of the comments on this thread are talkingp in about one office. As you enter the building from the parking lot, immediately on your left you will see the County Commissioner's office which handles many requests for various services. Immediately as you turn to the left you will see the office of a local Justice of the Peace, where there are different types of services which are handled. Adjacent you will find the courtroom for the justice of the peace. Again there are many different services that are handled through here. Next you will find an office for Harris County Constable Precinct 3. Next door to that you will find the Harris County Sheriff's Office Across the hall you will find the office of the Tax Assessor Collector, which handles property tax car registrations voter registration and several other services. And last but not least before you return to the parking lot you will find the office of the County Clerk where you may obtain marriage license, assumed name certificate, birth certificates, death certificates and more. considering the number of transactions that are handled through all of these different offices on any given day, you will find the staff at each office to be very friendly and ready to help in any sort of way. Certainly since 2019, the overall quality of service has been raised to a new level.
Just left the Courthouse in an attempt to transfer a vehicle title and had the most pleasant experience with Joyce at the welcome desk. Even though there were only a few minutes left before closing, she was kind, patient and informative. Thanks Joyce, you are awesome!!!
This place is now HORRIBLE! You used to be able to get in 2 lines and it was quick. Now you have to register in the kiosk and say why you’re here. So they jump around from titles transfers, to registration stickers. Some people will get in and out before you. I used to spend maybe 20mins tops. And now I’m here over 45minutes and STILL waiting! It was a terrible idea to change the way it is done.
Everytime I go in that building I encounter rude people. I went into the Sheriffs Office to report our company had found a piece of equipment that had been stolen, and was made to wait an hour and a half because I was told there were not anyone to take the report. While I was there, at least 5 or 6 different deputies came and went. After I finally threw a fit, they were magically able to produce a deputy to make a report. The Tax Assessor Collectors office is even WORSE! I have to go in there for title work, and they are the RUDDEST people on the face of the earth, and none of them know what they are talking about. I can literally go in there and talk to one employee, come back and get a different employee, and get a totally different answer from each.
