We had a great time at JoDean's! It was my friend's first time there and she loved it. She's normally not a fish person, but JoDean's fish is so good that she couldn't help but just chew and nod in approval. The atmosphere is so neat, with antiques at every glance on the walls, ceiling and the floor. Our waitress was awesome and remembered our drink selection and always stopped by to check on us. We will definitely come back.
Absolutely FABULOUS start to finish! Great, excellent customer service and super friendly staff. Went on the seafood night, great choices like cod, catfish, shrimp prepared two way, crab and salmon plus all the the usual comfort food offerings. The restaurant also had many different pieces of art like old feed sacks, cars,other farming tools from the distant past. Go check it out its well worth the drive!!
Such a hidden gem! Visually this place is busy with all the interesting decor and I love it! You can either choose from their large buffet options or cook to order items. And let me tell you the 16oz Ribeye or $23.99 was fantastic! Service was exceptional and I'm almost certain there were more people constantly cleaning then there were patrons dining. If you want a delicious meal at affordable prices don't miss this place!
This is a great find. I had gone to three other places looking for a meal but I didn't go into the others. I'm glad I waited. They have some excellent parsnips on the buffet along with bacon wrapped bratwurst and very light wall eye. The entire meal, complete with beef stroganoff and beef tips was ever so succulent. And all for less than $10!
If you love country cooking covered in gravy, this is the place for you. The employees are nice, it's a purchase a meal or go to the buffet type of place. What I was really impressed with were all the antiques. Old first edition cars, wagons and supplies. It's like your eating in a quality museum. I love it. Prices are what you expect for a place that serves multiple options to eat. They serve impressive desserts though. May I suggest the crispy cinnamon rolls... my mouth eats just thinking about them.
I would venture to bet, if I were to notify state right now, not one of their food items on the steam tables would temp where they are supposed to be! Hell, butter wouldn't even melt on the green beans! Baked beans and the shrimp Alfredo were like soup! The employees were dressed like dirtballs. No uniforms, name tags, nothing! And our bill, $40+ and some change!!! For what??? It was awful!!!! The best part was the ice cream! Parking: Plenty Wheelchair accessibility: Plenty, but the actual restaurant entrance is clear on the other side, then you have to walk clear back to the other side to be seated!
We visited JoDean's at about 2:20 on a Saturday. I opted for the buffet while the wife ordered a cheesburger. The buffet was well stocked and well attended. Every item I tried, from catfish to BBQ ribs, was hot and tasty. The wife was satisfied with her burger. Our waitress seemed a bit inexperienced, however she was helpful and visited our table at the appropriate frequency. All in all, a good experience!
It's great. Unfortunately they have closed their doors for good. The owner has retired after more than 50 years in business. Sadly we have lost an iconic restaurant.
