I love this place! They are helpful and amazing with children. I honestly feel at home when I am there. They have a great reading program for little ones. I feel so lucky that my daughter will get to grow up going there.
I had some time to kill between showings I am a Realtor and I decided to check out the Josephine County Library. Specifically any resources and books on the history of the area. The library isn't huge by any means but larger and more diverse in subject matter than I would have anticipated for a county this size. It was clean, bathrooms were clean too. I didn't use them today but they had plenty of computers set up for public use. The isles were widely spaced and the entire building was well lit. I did find a book that interested me and settled into one of the club chairs which turned out to be quite comfortable. All in all I definitely recommend this library. It has great selection, knowledgeable and helpful staff and was clean and quiet.
My daughter loves the library. We take her to pick out books every week. The staff has been great during the pandemic and I can't thank them enough. Highly recommend for people of all ages.

This is my favorite place to go in the whole county! They have a very broad selection of books, the library itself is very neat and well organized and the online Polaris catalog is very easy to use to place books on hold, see overdue titles, and even renew books you have currently out. The summer reading programs are very great both the teen program and for younger kids and really encourage reading across all ages. I hope this library will continue to be around for my kids.
Clean and pleasant with computers available for use.
It's nice and quiet
They say you should never judge a book by its cover. Well we were judged the moment we walk through the door. We walked over to the computer area , 1 other person there. I choose my seat, me and my husband, I was processeding to get my library card out to sign in for computer use. We we're rudely approached by a library worker and told with distain we must first sign in before use. I know this because not my first using the computers and number 2 I can read. She was very nasty in taking my card and procesed to threw my numbered sign at me. It was uncalled for and she treated my like I was a stupid stump. I pay my property taxes and should be able to use the library without being profiled. We have limited wifi in our area and I needed the bandwidth in town. Needless to say any I will no longer visit or support my towns library system. We will now donate our hard copies to The my free little libraries around town. Most of our donated books are best sellers and in excellent shape.
If you live outside of the City limits, they want $5 a month for a library card!
The staff at the Josephine County Library treated me with contempt and unessecary aggression. Upon seeing me silently using my cellular device an elderly woman informned me “The library is closing. Also: no cell phones in the library.” My question is, if it is not silent what is the issue, also: how would they enforce such a ridiculous rule if no one is effected by one’s personal use of their cell phone, while silent? The situation left me bewildered and hurt. The public library is the only place I can receive Wi-Fi and thus contact my family. I am currently homeless and staying at a shelter that does not always provide internet services. I thought one could look up to elders for care and guidance. I guess not.
