Based at Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kan., JEA serves to support, train and celebrate journalism educators. Programs and initiatives include a 1,000+ member listserv to share advice and resources, JEA Bookstore, national conventions for teachers and students in partnership with National Scholastic Press Association, workshops, online seminars, contests, awards, a mentoring program, JEA Advisers Institute and more.
The Journalism Education Association supports free and responsible scholastic journalism by providing resources and educational opportunities, by promoting professionalism, by encouraging and rewarding student excellence and teacher achievement, and by fostering an atmosphere which encompasses diversity yet builds unity.
