I really enjoyed their bulalo! Happy I found this place finally. The serving size is massive. The bowl in the picture is roughly a fourth. They are excellent in preparing for takeout orders like mine. Packing up soup is tricky...the attention to detail sets them apart. Support your local restaurants!
Worst Filipino food I've ever had in my life. The sisig was made with pork meat, no pork ears or any of the cartilage, it was very tough meat and I'm 100% sure that it was reheated. The bangus belly sinigang had 0 belly whatsoever. See the picture below. ALL of the veggies were undercooked and I'm pretty sure they just used some instant soup mix, put the veggies in and served it raw. Would NOT recommend this place. Worst Filipino restaurant I've ever been to.
Craving for home cooked Filipino meals? This is the right place to have that fix, good portion sizes and the staff is super courteous unlike other Filipino restaurants. Prices are within the high side but we’ll worth it and you’ll come out satisfied.
So delicious! Food looks amazing! Best Filipino restaurant in the area. Highly recommended when celebrating something or having guest.
This restaurant was recommended by family as one of the best Filipino establishments in the Bay area. The restaurant itself is quite large, and the decor is quite nice, giving a touch of class to the dining experience, something that I have not experienced at other Filipino restaurants that I've been to. The menu is quite extensive, and there are a lot of staples and also some dishes that were unique to Kalesa. We ordered the Ukoy, Kare Kare, Sizzling Pork Sisig, Sizzling Bangus Sisig and the Pinakbet. The Ukoy, which is a vegetable and shrimp fried patty, was excellent. Crispy and flavourful and was not greasy as found in other establishments. The Kare Kare, a peanut based oxtail and vegetable stew, also had amazing flavour. The stew was thick and there was a great balance of flavour, nothing too overpowering, and the oxtail was tender. Both sizzling Sisig dishes were crispy, had a touch of spice and tasted amazing paired with garlic rice. Lastly the Pinakbet, a mix of vegetables like eggplant, and Okra, was a perfect compliment to lighten up the overall meal. The service was fast and friendly, and the parking is plentiful. The only negative was that the washrooms were a little disorderly and not clean. Overall a nice experience and highly recommended, especially if you have not experienced Filipino cuisine.
Food is good but their Karekare needs more sauce. Sisig is the best palabok is good. Crispy pata is good plenty of parking. Wheel chair access. . Pick up food park on the side of their store after you pay. Nice staff.Food: 5/5
Food was delicious. The server that attended us was a pressure to deal with. It was our first time eating Filipino food and it will not be the last. Can not wait to go again.
Filipino food cooked right! Veggies are crunchy and not overcooked. The flavor are on point. We have to drop by this place everytime we go to San Francisco. It is about an additional 1 hr drive but it is totally worth it.
We've celebrated birthday dinners and lunches here for up to about 20 people in our group. The place is always accommodating and the servers super friendly and hospitable, reminds me of home . Best to have a reservation for big groups.
This is one of the first sit down Filipino restaurants I've been to. The staff are themed to the Filipino atmosphere. I ordered sagot gulaman, fried calamari, and a fish lunch special. The sagot gulaman was very sweet and had a lot of shaved ice on the top. The calamari sauces were good and the breading was good, but it was very oily and difficult to finish. The fish lunch special was okay, the fish wasn't the tastiest and it just had sweet and sour sauce on top. Perhaps the other dishes that are more traditional are better. Also, they played nothing but Ed Sheeran music.
