I only checked out the children's space, but I really liked it! It's pretty sizable, with a decent selection of toddler books, and it looked like the older kid and teen section had quite a bit too. We went to story hour and were able to play awhile after in this cute room as well. Staff was pleasant. The building has kind of a frank Lloyd Wright vibe, which is cool.
Glad I found it! As a home health worker, it helps to have a free, well lit, quiet space to work that doesn't require me to buy something to stay. And it's nice.
We love this library! The workers are very helpful. My family has always enjoyed story times. They have a nice play area and a great selection of children’s materials. We’ve had a few delays when doing pick-ups with recent COVID guidelines; however, the process is new for everyone. I’m grateful we can still access materials.
They have a large selection of books on all kinds of subjects. I usually go to the main location. But this location had alot of the books I was wanting and I didn't want to wait to have them sent to the other location. It was clean and check out is easy if you already have a card.
We had a wonderful experience. The librarian volunteered to help us with our books when we had issues with the self checkout. Very friendly staff and the building was clean.
I go to the library every Saturday they have a good book session for adults and kids they could possible get a bigger blue ray DVD session when they have the blue ray DVDs I wanted I checked then out right away they have a good regular DVD session good cd session I got a lot of books to read and a lot of books for kids and 6 blue ray DVDs they had my favorite movies romance movies I got 5 cds I love all five of them I check out and I got 7 romance books and 3 regular books and ten kids books I have a good experience at the Kansas city Kansas public library
Fun events, great atmosphere, great books
When 1st built. My 1st experience with custom architecture as a kid and I LOVED it. alcoves for reading and studying. Art display area. It was my escape as a HS freshman from my enmeshed family, I would go and not do homework and explore the stacks. Washington c/o '94 The previous building of this branch was a hidden corner of a strip mall.
They have a great selection of books, movies, and music. The West Wyandotte branch also has a store where they sell items that have been removed from circulation.
Great library! Very kid friendly. I have two kids age 9 and 11 and I have a hard time getting them to leave. The staff is great and so helpful and have really encouraged my kids to read by suggesting new series. My son loves the Zombie Chasers and the creature from my closet. Thanks for recommending them.
