The first Greek letter fraternity known among women, Kappa Alpha Theta was founded by four women - Bettie Locke Hamilton, Alice Allen Brant, Bettie Tipton Lindsey and Hannah Fitch Shaw - on January 27, 1870.
Our Fraternity Purpose: The aim is threefold—intellectually, the highest scholarship; socially, the widest influence for good; and the Moral Code is love.
Our Fraternity Values: The values of Kappa Alpha Theta Fraternity are scholarship, service, leadership, personal excellence, and friendship/sisterhood.
