Hello. Let me introduce myself to you. I’m Karl Dickinson, Account Manager for Jack Doheny Supplies. I am the Area Manager for municipal accounts in NE Ohio. Please check the product line page for a full listing of the products that we handle.
A little history about myself…I am a second generation equipment salesman and started my career in municipal equipment in my father’s (Fred Dickinson) company Earl Ives Equipment back in 1977 when I was 11 years old! Earl Ives, at the time, was one of the largest snow and ice, paving and sewer cleaning equipment dealers in Ohio. I learned a lot about the industry well into my teens when I left to pursue my own path in life!
That path took me into retail sales where I learned a lot about how the sales game works and doesn’t work! I managed a home electronics store and then a pool and spa store. But municipal equipment was in my blood!
That’s when, in 1991, Glen Warfield, the owner of Concord Road Equipment asked me to join his growing company as their first full time outside sales rep! Concord Road Equipment was a small manufacturing firm that made berming machines, tar kettles, salt spreaders, chip & stone spreaders. They also saw the need in the industry for snow and ice control equipment, a void that was left when Earl Ives closed it’s doors. I forged a lasting friendship with Jeff Warfield, the General Manager, and we quickly took the industry by storm to become known as one of the best snow and ice truck manufacturers in Ohio! I handled all outside sales in NE Ohio and also set up distributors for Concord equipment across the country. I credit Glen and Jeff for much of the success I have achieved in my municipal equipment field and truly enjoyed my time with them.
Jack Doheny came calling in July of 1995. While I was not looking to change positions, the opportunity was too big to turn down. Jack Doheny had built a hugely successful sewer cleaning equipment dealership in Michigan and now wanted to expand into Ohio. I had already help build one successful company and was flattered that they had asked me to be a part of their new team in Ohio. Armed with the Vactor Sewer Cleaner and the Elgin Street Sweeper line, we were poised for success. So after talking it over with my wife, I took the leap and never looked back. In the 15 years I have been with Jack Doheny, we have become the largest Sewer Cleaning and Street Sweeping equipment dealer in the WORLD! I am proud to say that I have been a big part of that success and hope to continue for many years to come!
