A wonderful diner restaurant with American classics at a very reasonable cost. The entrees are your favorite American dishes done well. The service is very fast and super friendly. Excellent for families. There's lots of parking shared with the Carson Valley Casino.Food: 5/5
I saw online that Katie's country kitchen advertises skillet Saturdays, so I, of course, had to put my house slippers on and come check this place out for brunch. Amazing food! Don't let this small plate fool you it is very filling! My family also enjoyed their meals as well. Service was excellent and very friendly, and prices were decent. Eventho, it was a little crowded food wait time wasn't long. I'm definitely coming back for more!
Today was my wife and my anniversary so we decided to go for a ride. We were going through Minden, Nv. and stopped at the Carson Valley for lunch. The restaurant there is Katie's Country Kitchen so in we went. My wife had a burger and fries, my sister-in-law had fish and chips and I had a French dip sandwich. The food was very good, the service was excellent, the price was what you would expect and the restaurant itself was very nice. Overall I'd say it was a very good experience.
Outstanding value and service. I don't review too often, but I thought I should remark positively on Katie's Country Kitchen and particularly our server Zack. He took time to tell us about how the Chandler plate that was their Sunday night special. Four generous pieces of chicken was pressure cooked in an in house broiler to retains it's juiciness, and create a crunchy exterior. Zack also helped custom create the mini-sundae for the kids. The bill was surprisingly low and likely this restaurant must be a loss leader for the casino. The service remarkable because we've only seen this sort of care at a Michelin starred restaurants before. Kid-friendliness: Kids menu. Very generous with pricing and portions. Easily adult sized and then some.
Went in on a Sunday night and it was my lucky day because the special was "Fried chicken Dinner" The price for this amazing dinner was $8.99!!! With this delicious fried chicken dinner you get delicious coleslaw, mashed potatoes and gravy and a fresh roll! God knows I love fried chicken! When my meal arrived it was basically a half of chicken a chicken breast, thigh, drumstick etc.. Look I couldn't eat all this I had to ask for a to-go box very generous portions all around. I was told by a waiter they serve up to 300 fried chicken dinners every Sunday!! He told me it was the most popular special of the week and it is stayed on the menu while other specials have come and gone, that's how popular it is! If you like fried chicken go there and get this dinner you will not be disappointed great service as well! I sat at the counter not wanting to wait for a table and an elderly gentleman sat next to me, he had a very kind spirit and we chatted a little bit while waiting for our meals he also ordered the fried chicken dinner. I felt compelled when I was leaving to buy his dinner for him, I didn't tell him I just asked the waitress for his ticket and I left, I then proceeded to go out to the casino and play the penny slot machines After a few spins I won $600! Call it what you want luck etc..but I call it reaping what you sow. I believe my act of kindness had something to do with me winning, this is also known as "Karma" this is what the world needs much much more kindness and compassion a little kindness and compassion goes a long ways. I will return to Katie's Country kitchen and I will again order the Fried Chicken Dinner!
This gem serves great food with generous portions and low prices. The restaurant is cozy and server's are very efficient and polite. We ordered 2 turkey dinners, patty melt, cob salad, buffalo wings and fried chicken. Everything was cooked perfectly and came out very quick! This place has something for everyone, can't wait to try the breakfast!Overall a pleasant experience and will return.
We have eaten at Katie's Country Kitchen many many times, and will keep returning for as long as they serve such delicious food. The staff is always prompt and courteous, the food has never been a disappointment, prices are very good, and the booths are large and comfortable, set in an inviting atmosphere. We have also never had to wait more than a few minutes to be seated, but normally we are seated immediately with no wait. Highly recommended.
The food was good here but they were very under staffed, just like alot of places. It took over an hour to be seated and served our food. But they were very friendly and did there best.Food: 4/5
The service was good - our waiter was friendly. It was a busy Saturday night but it wasn't too long of a wait for our food. The food itself was average. I had the big bird sandwich with fries. The fries were good, the sandwich was a bit dry. My boyfriend had the prime rib special. He said it was cooked okay but it lacked flavor. *edit - had breakfast here last weekend and I have to rave about the deep fried sausage! I'm not a deep fried food lover per se, but the sausage was amazing!
Food was okay. Nothing to write home about. My big bird sandwich had been hanging out under the heatlamp too long. Service was great. Host was efficient, waitress was good. And there was a bus boy who was working his butt off. The casino itself is fine but the second hand smoke is really bad.
