The potential here is huge, the area is gorgeous. However with multiple tent cities residing here the past year, the area needs a little love and deep power wash to rid the smell of urine & get the garbage out of the fountains
Very scenic location overlooking the riverfront. There's trash sometimes that always gets picked up eventually anyway and it even looks good in the winter at times when things are dreary. In order to get good sunrise pictures, postion yourself so you are facing Robert Street Bridge. For sunset, face towards the Wabasha bridge. Do you like boats? This is a great place to casually observe aquatic vehicles of all sizes rolling by, and if you have children who have never seen a barge or ferry, don't miss the chance to stop here. There are also train tracks and trains also frequent the area below.
We came for the ice sculptures and festivities as part of the Winter Carnival. I understand it is usually at Rice Park, but due to construction, it was here this year. Nice view of the river and plenty of parking nearby.
My girls and I first time going and we have lived in St Paul for 2 years now beautiful scenery
Today a red tent went up near the trellis. This park is across the street from the Inter-Continental Hotel and many apartments. It is a sweet little park. This park will probably have many more tents in the next few days. Who is going to bring their kids or walk there dog here now? We the taxpayers can't enjoy the parks. Homeless have carte blanche.
Great park during the day and amazing site seeing or scenery overlooking the river. However at night time its a great spot to see the night lights and enjoy a cool breeze........ along as you are not mugged or surrounded along with being out numbered by desperate individuals including the homeless robbing the homeless. "Help one another not by kicking them when they are down"
Lots if bums but they are harmless, great views, take a walk along the bluffs edge
Very pretty views but homeless people everywhere.
It always been a safe spot or place not a lot of homeless people and is nice because is by the river is nice view along the wabasha bridge all tho stinks like pop because the homeless people and I don't think it smells like it years ago
I was there for the Saint Paul Winter Carnival to view the ice sculptures. It was a wonderful place to be frozen. The sculptures were beautiful. The view from the park was nice. The stage hosted good musicians. The concessions were yummy and warm
