Located between an induatrial park and the northern edge of the switchyards, this park is actually just two retention ponds with some benches and a bridge and a park sign. There are no paths or trails, so my family and I walked the perimeter of the ponds. Sadly, because of the ponds' location, trash had accumulated in the shallows of the pond nearer the industrial area, but that didnt stop the wildlife that congregated there. We saw Mallard ducks. Canadian geese, blue herons, white egrets, rabbits, opossums and some enormous fish, both flipping in the pond and dead along the bank under the train bridge. Tiny lilypads and cattails were growing along the banks of the ponds. There are several cypress and crepe myrtle trees in the area. The bridge affords a view of a wooded inlet where wildlife may be seen. I think the bridge could also be a nice place to fish from. There are no pathways, parking or restroom facilities. Total diatance around both pomds in a figure eight was one mile.
Not your ideal park. But wonderful to Sit and enjoy the view. The Geese there are interactive...but they are geese still
Great fishing for me & my son
I've been going there for 30 years. Love the park. Needs to be mowed.
Nice quiet, clean park and the ducks are awesome for the kids
Nice quiet little park with alot of geese.
A very simple park for fishing in the flood plain of the Trinity river.
