For more than 65 years, Kenmore Mercy Hospital has been a vital part of Kenmore and Tonawanda, growing and evolving to meet the community’s changing needs.
Today in 2017, the hospital provides its patients with a nationally recognized knee & hip center and medical rehabilitation unit, state-of-the-art emergency care, sleep medicine, stroke care, imaging technology, palliative care, interventional radiology, cardiopulmonary testing, and enhanced medical, surgical, and critical care services.
Kenmore Mercy Hospital continues to demonstrate its excellence through its regional and national recognitions:
• Named New York State’s only Top Hospital by The Leapfrog Group in 2016, demonstrating how safe they keep their patients from errors, injuries, accidents, and infections
• Earned the Buffalo’s only “A” rating from the Hospital Safety Score by The Leapfrog Group in Spring and Fall 2016. It has earned that rating each cycle since April 2014.
• Earned Disease-Specific Care Certification for both total knee and total hip replacement from The Joint Commission (2011, 2013, and 2015). Kenmore Mercy remains the only hospital in this area to hold this certification.
• Rated highest in New York State for safety in overall surgeries by Consumer Reports. The September 2013 issue of Consumer Reports magazine included an article ranking hospitals for surgical care. Kenmore Mercy Hospital was rated top in New York for its outstanding surgical care. Scores were based on safety and patient outcome and were limited to Medicare-covered patients.
• Designated by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Western New York as a Blue - Distinction Center for Spine Surgery and as a Blue Distinction Center for Knee and Hip Replacement.
• Designated by New York State as a Stroke Center
• Recognized as one of the nation's top hospital critical care units with receipt of the Beacon Award for Excellence (2012 and 2016), given by the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses.
