This is hands down the worst hospital I have ever experienced in 8 different states through my life. They do not follow regulations or guidelines, I’ve been sitting here for over two hours for a pretty logical medical reason ….Ive watched an elderly man claim he could not breath to the staff for well over an hour to the point of vomiting. As a person born with asthma, he should have been taken back immediately by law and given oxygen. I’ve watched about 8 healthy people go before me. This place needs an investigation on regulations that are practiced here.
Unfortunately, I had some medical issues and needed the help of a hospital. After being neglected while in the waiting area of another hospital in severe pain in the middle of the night, I left. The next morning went to Kent and was treated with the utmost professionalism, concern and compassion. The entire visit was just 3 hours and I never felt rushed. A second visit to Kent was to have a follow up test. The entire process was methodical to ensure safety and procedural awareness. The staff was attentive particularly my nurse Jenny or Jinny idk. The doctor was very clear on the risks and likely outcome and ultimately was spot on and i had no complications. As a physician myself I am more than confident referring my patients and family to Kent!
DOUBLE BILLING ALERT! I called Care NE to get a gastroenterologist. They sent me to their Care NE Medical Group Surgical Care facility that is located INSIDE Kent Hospital. Then they bill you for BOTH the GI appointment AND Kent Hospital. Shouldn't your doctor's bill already cover their overhead? They say there is a sign on the wall that you get charged for the facility, but this is not clear. They don't disclose it's $200 or whatever they feel like charging, as it's subject to change. I showed up early to fill out the paperwork for the new doctor and got rushed into the exam room before my appointment time and before filling out the paperwork entirely. I even asked if they had my family medical history in their computer system because I wasn't done. When I set the appointment, they asked for my insurance info well in advance. They had plenty of time to run my insurance and notify me in advance of the double billing, but didn't. They could have sent me to a GI specialist outside the hospital, but didn't. They could have told me " By the way, it's going to be an extra $200 facility fee to cover Care CE leasing space to other Care NE doctors." upon arrival, but didn't. Then a SURPRISE BILL that's creative double billing. If Care NE or Kent Hospital needs financing, they can call a bank because that bill will NEVER be paid. Fraud at it's finest.
I went here last January with difficulty breathing as I had a positive Covid test 4 days prior. I told the admitting that I was taking Tylenol as per my doctor’s orders and was put in a separate waiting room. I waited for over 3 hours before I was seen by two obese female Drs one of which asked me if I had been vaccinated and then gave me a look of disapproval at my answer. I wasn’t, I have always been very healthy and on no medications at 58 They gave me a higher dose of Tylenol saying that would help my breathing and then sent me home and told me to continue to take Tylenol The next day I was still struggling and returned to Kent. I waited over 5 hrs before they finally did a chest X-ray and determined I had pneumonia. It took 3 hours more before I was taken to emergency and they put an IV in my arm for antibiotics. Well they put the IV in wrong and the antibiotics went into my arm instead of my veins. Extremely painful I was admitted, administered oxygen and remained in the hospital for 7 days. The care I had for the rest of time I was there was adequate. You can criticize me for not having the vaccine but I will reiterate that I am very healthy not overweight and have never been on any medication in my life. If I had been taken care of properly when I first arrived I could have avoided the lengthy stay.
I met with 4 different employees on June 25 for two different ailments. They told me they have never seen anything like it and told me “good luck hope it heals” and sent me on my way. Meanwhile my blood tests came back abnormal which they claimed meant nothing. Terrible service and they have no clue what they are doing. Worst care I’ve ever received. The best person there was the lady who checked me in. She was kind and quick. As far as medical care I ended up in the hospital again and needed immediate care about a week later. Do not go here.
Husband well taken care of in step down unit from ICU. Caring nurses, awesome doctor calls me daily to update. Rec'd 2 calls from discharge/social worker in preparation for rehab ahead of time. Covid safety protocols in place. Visiting hrs, 10 am - noon, and 4pm to 6pm. Double masks required they'll give you a mask at check in social distancing, hand sanitizing, screening upon entry.
I went in to admit myself inpatient because I’ve been suicidal. I went in and first the security guard misunderstood me and told me to go to the other side of the hospital so I could visit the room I wanted to. I had to reiterate that I was there for myself. He then directed me to the nurse that was in the lobby. She asked why I was there and I said “I would like to go inpatient” and she said “I don’t get it. Are u here for a detox?” And I said “no I'm suicidal.” And she gave me a weird/ dirty look and said “YOU are?” And then I got mad and left. I already didn’t want to go into the hospital because who does? and she treated me like that and deterred me from getting the help I need. I definitely would not recommend coming here for mental health help.
After waiting 4 hours to get through triage, mind you there’s about 20 others who are doing the same exact thing all wondering the same thing, how has no one gone in yet?… They provide a patient that has throbbing neck pain with ibuprofen?? Even though the patient has been taking ibuprofen for the last 3 days with no relief of pain. This “ER” is not an ER. Taking vitals and blood work in the waiting room..:never seen anything like it. One patient has waited around 3 hours to go in and she is in visible pain and unable to move her leg. This is not emergency care. This is care at the leisure of the workers. Do better.
I went to this hospital in the middle of the night shaking and vomiting from severe abdominal pain. The intake lady was nice and very nonchalant for the 4 hours and counting I spent in visible pain. I had to be in a wheelchair for gods sake. Multiple healthy people came and went. Including people leaving from the wait. A man literally slept there overnight in the waiting room before being asked what he needed. I left without being seen.
If I could give this hospital a zero I would. Completely rude and unprofessional staff. Clearly nurses didn’t know what they were doing and had to get three different people to get an IV in. Theyre more focused on having conversations with each other than caring for their patients. Will never come back here or send any of my family or friends. What a joke.
