State Library public hours are Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm ET. General hours for State Library staff are Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm ET.
The Division of Library Services provides library and reference services through the State Library; primary customers are state agency employees and the staff of public libraries. Because customers are located throughout the state, access to and delivery of services is provided through the KDLA website, direct email, and a toll-free telephone number. Additionally, the division provides training opportunities for its customers. The work of the division is accomplished through three branches, Customer Services and Collections, Library Development, and the Kentucky Talking Book Library.
The mission of KDLA is to support and promote access to library services and to ensure that documentation of government activities is created, preserved, and made available for public use.
