The Kentucky Talking Book Library is part of the Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives. KTBL provides FREE audio, Braille and digital download books and magazines to print disabled patrons in the state of Kentucky. We are part of a nationwide network of cooperative libraries headed by the National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped, which is a division of the Library of Congress. KTBL is in the Field Services division of the Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives located in Frankfort, KY.
The Kentucky Talking Book Library collection includes both fiction and non-fiction, with items suitable for children, teens, adults, and seniors.

* Downloadable digital talking books and magazines -- BARD: Braille and Audio Reading Download
* Talking books and magazines on cassette tape and special cassette players.
* Braille books and magazines
* Downloadable Braille books and magazines
* Print/Braille books—picture books with a Braille overlay
* Kentucky books—titles about Kentucky or by Kentucky authors; recorded in the KTBL studio
* NFB Newsline—a newspaper-reading service accessed by touch tone telephone
* Described movies—contain additional narration to describe the onscreen action
The mission of The Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives is to support and promote access to library services and to ensure that documentation of government activities is created, preserved and made available for public use.
