This is basically Bowling Green’s “Central Park” or as close as we have. It’s a huge park with 10 quality tennis courts with evening lights, a full court basketball court, batting cages, a couple baseball diamonds, community gardens which residents can rent inexpensively early in the year, a 1.25 mile crushed stone running / walking trail, a wonderful children’s play gym area, lots of benches, shade trees, picnic shelters, open space for play, soccer practice area with nets, and an 18 hole disc golf course. There is water and bathrooms at the main shelter, and near the main tennis courts.
Thank you bowling green. This is a fun course. The fairways are mowed, the rest of the grass is left alone. This is helpful due to the criss cross nature of the fairways. Enough trees to avoid, or hit. The course is at the far end of the park with its own parking. There is a porta potty there.
We really enjoy the park. My two grandsons play baseball there & my other Grands enjoyed the park!!!! Go grill out, walk the trail, utilize the playground or catch a great game!!!
Nice place to visit for walking, baseball, disc golf, tennis and basketball. Has restrooms and a playground. Our dog loves to walk there. Also has community garden options.
Beautiful and I always feel safe with my kids. The running track is the best in bg, in my opinion. It's a dirt, rock, and paved trail; so you need a good stroller.
I've never played such a well maintained course before. Mowed fairways, accurate signage that isn't falling down...pure heaven. Not an easy course, but not silly difficult easy. Lots of holes for lefties and right-handed throwers.
The best park in Bowling Green. It has a great proximity to WKU and downtown. This is a great meeting spot in Bowling Green, due to its central location. There is a great 1.25 mile running trail, consisting of finely crushed stone, that circles a portion of the park. There are tennis courts, baseball fields, a playground, and auxiliary fields. The park does get crowded when the weather is exceptionally nice. Parking may be an issue at these peak times. Also, there are many 5K races and other public events held here, which may occupy the facilities.
Beautiful park. Nice gravel trail for walking, jogging. Has tennis courts, basketball court, batting cages, baseball fields, and playground. Extremely family friendly.
This Park holds a special place in my heart. Back in the '70s I had the honor working for the Parks department who's director was Paul Walker. I had Hands-On involvement with all the trees and landscaping surrounding them. The trees at that time were 3 to 5 ft tall. One of the jobs that Bernie Stein and I had was to get water to all of those trees several times a week. We made it a fun job! Decades later when I think of that time it brings back precious memories of the park system and of my father. I'm blessed to have been apart of that phase of Bowling Green's growth and continuing goal of having a place for The Young and the old to be comfortable and safe.
Very well maintained park with frisbee golf, courts, courts, fields, a running trail, kids playground, WiFi. One lap around the park is about 1.25 mi. The free WiFi from City of Bowling Green is pretty fast, granted the playground was not crowded when I tested it. About 16/16 Mbps. Interestingly that is faster than the BG Public Library. Great place for family activities!
