I totally agree with the previous comment. I too would give a zero rating. Trying to settle a trust account for almost one month. All the legal documents were provided. Key then put a hold on the account causing several checks to bounce, including one to the attorney. When I spoke with the manager he had no answer and was completely lost on what to do. He asked for documents which I had previously provided, but he insisted I was wrong, and Key did not have those documents. Jorge was fantastic to work with and did the best he could with the poor advice he was given by his supervisors. A month later it appears the matter has been resolved, if the bank checks don't bounce. But I still have to return to sign a document? Very stressful ordeal. It should be noted 2 other banks were able to close the accounts with the same legal paperwork in 3 days.
Received a large check from work and they decided to put a 5 day hold on it, for being out of my range of normal deposits, even though I deposited a check 2 months earlier for a larger amount and there was no hold at all. Now I'm going to have multiple overdrafts and bounced checks that I'm sure they won't cover. Thanks a lot Key Bank
If I could have given 0 stars on the rating I would have. I opened an account here a few months back and have had multiple issues. I tried to deposit cash and get a cashiers check for a purchase and I was told I couldnt! I guess this bank doesnt deal with cash. My account has had multiple fees added by the bank and none of the staff could explain why. I was having overdraft and maintainece fees before my first direct deposit even went through. More recently I deposited 2 payroll checks via the mobile check deposit feature and had to wait 5 business days for funds to become available, it has been longer than 5 days and funds are still not available. I dont understand why there would be a 5 day hold on a deposited payroll check when it only takes 5 minutes to call the bank that issued the check and verify the funds and authenticity. I spoke to the branch manager at the Sandusky Ohio location, let me tell you he has no clue whats going on at all. He cant answer any questions about anything. His only response to every question I asked him is that its my fault and it was in the disclosures I signed when I opened my account. My experience with KeyBank has been stressful and upsetting.
This particular key bank in sandusky, oh is the worse i've seen. when they get your money into their bank they do everything to keep you from taking it out even verified funds they put a hold on. They also pull every move they can to hit you with a over-draft fee especially when they know you got a direct deposit coming in. I've seen it all with company had a 700 credit score and they still denied me for over-draft protection. If i didnt have so many accounts i pay link to this account i would shut this account down years ago. I will advise any one else to bank else where. Civista, pnc, us bank, 5/3 or possible another key bank branch.
Requested a home equity through Key in April, multiple hits against credit, weeks pass between updates, inaccurate decisions made regarding DTI and other issues. Contacted the area management, was told the loan would now be expedited. 4 months after initial app and still don't know the status from them. So I'm closing the loan request. It may not be the branches' fault - who knows - but the branch is the representative of Key. If you decide to deal with Key, stay on top of the loan request and best wishes to you.
There's not enough words to explain the troubles I had and still have 2 yrs after my father died to close his accounts. A checking and a R.I.A. And after all the hoops I had to jump through and then told me it's my fault for doing what they told me to do. ALL FOR MY PROTECTION. And for a year after his death I had to come to this bank multiple times because his closed checking account was being charged for being inactive an other administration fees. He had accounts in other banks in town and I didn't have one problem closings out those accounts. And to this day they still have his I.R.A. money. BAD BANK.
Terrible customer service. Representatives were very rude. Filed a transaction dispute with the branch 6 days pass I call to follow up only to find out that my dispute was canceled and so was my debit card no new card was ordered and no reason given as to why my dispute was canceled at all. Every time I have talked with this branch the associates are rude and act like you are wasting their time. I will never bank here again and would not recommend to anyone.
Never had problems with my hassle free account BUT they are always so rude. You never see a smile, they don’t welcome you when you enter, they don’t tell you to approach the glass even when there is no one in there, they’ll just have you standing there without even looking up at you, and drive thru is always really slow.
They would never let you cash a post dated check... but they will cash yours and cost you an overdraft.. the 800 number is in the Philippines... and guess what they can't help you either... sadddddd... Maybe I should go to Civista Bank... you trust them more than your customers...
