I was referred to Dr Lee-Kwen by one of his patients after 2 years of being ill and suffering without answers. I was sceptical and giving up hope. After my first visit I was assured there is hope and this Dr will find the cause of me feeling so ill. Dr Lee-Kwen is experienced, knowledgeable and listens. He LISTENS! He explains things in a manner that you will understand. He even has a good sense of humor. His staff is kind and professional. Of my 5 or 6 appointments I only had a longer wait time once. That being said, there was one appointment that I needed immediate test results. I was promptly fit in and given the utmost care as I was very scared. They took this time for me I needed to calm down and that was outstanding and showed human compassion.
First, the best part. The front desk personnel Jennifer was very pleasant and helpful. Thank you for your help. Beyond checking in, it went south. They send you a hyperlink via text days in advance where you need to create an account, log in, and fill out 3-4 digital forms to expedite your check-in process for when you arrive for your appointment. Sounded good to me. Less time sitting around. My appointment was for 1pm today 12/16/22. I arrived about 6 minutes early and was asked for my ID, my medical card, and to put on a mask. Ok. All set. I asked if the Dr. happened to be running a little behind today or if things were right along schedule. Jennifer assured me it's no more than 10-12 minutes beyond the appointment time. I sat for 30 minutes in their waiting room. Having other things to do today I was contemplating leaving. Finally a large female in scrubs stepped out and said my name. In a friendly manner I said, "It's a good thing too, I was just about to leave." She actually said with a snide attitude, "Don't let me stop you." *HALT* Nope - I'm not starting an appointment with a supposed professional office like that. You need me. Not the other way around. I can find another neurologist no problem. You don't make me sit around for 30 minutes AFTER my scheduled appointment time and then make it like it's no big deal. My time is valuable and you just wasted not only the time I sat there, but my drive time getting there, as well as back home. I wasted gas, and took time away from other obligations. This girl was the most unprofessional hoo-ha I've ever experienced in a medical setting. I specifically instructed Jennifer at the front desk NOT to bill my insurance since I was not seen and that attitude and wait time was unacceptable. We'll see if they try to bill anyway. I'll fight it to the grave. You don't get money for doing that to people. I understand a 10-15 minute run over on appointment times, but beyond that you are scheduling people way too close together with no margin for error. This on top of already saving your office time by completing 3-4 digital forms online days in advance. Small note: the office smells funky; like someone smoked in it at one time? I don't know - it's not clean smelling anyway. Might be time for new carpet and paint. Final note: They NEVER answer their phone. Never. They NEVER return voicemails you leave. I called at 2:15pm on an office day and get voicemail saying they're closed from 12-1 for lunch. Calling, calling, calling just to make an appointment. Bah, don't waste your time.
I do not usually write reviews but seeing that this Dr only gets a 2.5 rating is sad. I took 2 patients to him last week and found him easy to work with. Compassionate as well as a good listener. If you show up with your history in order, with facts you are sure of, he works beautifully with you. I have been a nurse for 30+ years and found him to be one of the best. I did note though, that we never did get pre-visit paperwork in the mail. We were able to complete it in the office. I would rate him higher than a 5 if I could.
Absolutely changed my life! I went from 3, or 4 migraines a week, to 2, or 3 a month! After 48 years, I finally live day, to day, not hindered with pain!!! I highly, highly recommend!
Worst dr. Office I ever faced. So difficulty to reach them.
Waited 2 months to get in for a new patient exam, except there was no exam. They didn't have me don a gown, and didntdo any of the things neurologists normally do, like sensation tests, following finger .With eyes while not moving head, etc. First the PA came in and asked me the same questions I filled out on the paperwork. He was rude, arrogant and irritable. Then the doctor came in. Still no exam. He told me it was"impossible"to give me an assessment without all of the records from my many previous doctors. So basically, he was saying he didn't have the skills to do an assessment on his own, and couldn't believe someone "who just wals in off the street" except that no one makes up stories like my life and the illnesses I have been living with. Who makes up Ehrlichiosis or undifferentiated connective tissue disease? And the PA hung out after the doctor came in, they both argued with me and treated me like I'm stupid. I've seen at least 9 doctors in the last three years and this is one of the worst experiences ever.
This man knows his stuff. He was extremely thorough and professional. I went with my mother for her first examination and left with clear answers and a comprehensive treatment plan.
Went today for my first evaluation as per my primary. I have been suffering from numerous symptoms that are neuro based—pins and needles, pain, shakiness and tremors, short term memory issues, eye pain and bluriness, muscle spasms that are so bad you can visually see them, extreme fatigue and many more. After an hour wait I was called in. The dr came in and spent about 5 minutes with me saying my MRI from Dent shows no abnormalities. He wouldn’t read my advocates note of my symptoms. And after hearing I had a TBI from my mother beating me with a billy club as a child, took out his hammer tool to check reflexes and said “don’t worry it’s not a billy club”. Excuse me?! He said that my TBI and Parkinson’s diagnoses from Dartmouth Hitchcock in NH were wrong. This was with no testing. I had hoped to have a nerve test and pet scan ordered to continue looking into my symptoms but instead was quickly dismissed. I can’t believe this is a viable doctor or office and strongly urge you or your loved ones to seek attention elsewhere!
Dr. LeeKwen is very caring and pleasant to have as a physician. I was diagnosed with MS 9 years ago and have been treated great ever since day one. Has helped me out when I couldn't afford my medication.
For the past 3 days I have been trying to get my neurologist to do something as simple as email this new job I have so I kan start and the female receptionist is the worst one of them kant even speak English or understand English or spell in English. And the male receptionist is the most unprofessional man I have ever spoke wit before
