This company was taking care of my late grandmother. We had several people come out, no complaints on bedside manner. The issue was they could never find any information on their tablets. Had to wait almost 2 hours for someone to show to the night of her passing. When we first made the call that she passed they didn’t have any of her info on their tablet and we had to give the person that answered all of this information that they should have already had. Not very great when it comes to taking stress away from a grieving family.
My mother-in-law was suddenly diagnosed with lung cancer and within 6 weeks we had to call hospice to help make her comfortable. While at the hospital a representative with Kindred Hospice had a sit down talk with my husband, my self, and my mother-in-law's best friend. I told her at that time that she was a very good sales woman and wanted her to guarantee she could deliver on everything she had promised my husband. My husband did not want his mother in any pain. She promised to deliver on her promises. Needless to say we had the worst experience with this company I think anyone could have. In the end two of "the very best" counselors came into our home and sat down with us and approved us for a $500 grant to go towards the funeral services. It has been over two months since the funeral and we have yet to receive the grant. We called hospice and guess what... that lady doesn't even work with Kindred anymore... I would have rated this place no stars but I had to give it at least one start to post this comment. If you have any choice at all DO NOT put your loved ones final days in the hands of anyone that works with Kindred Hospice. Your loved one will be in horrible pain and they do not follow through with their promises.
My mother was recently admitted to Kindred Hospice. I really didn’t know what to expect when the doctor said this type of care was recommended. We had been using home health but my mother was discharged from their services because she wasn’t making improvements. We weren’t sure what we would do, because we knew we still needed help managing her Congestive Heart Failure. Our experience started with the sweetest care coordinator who explained details about hospice care, the care team and services available through hospice. She talked with us about medical equipment that we would need and was able to get it all out to the house the same day. It was a lot like our home health, only they came out a lot more often, plus we had a chaplain and volunteer visits. The sweet little volunteer would sit and talk with momma while I would run to the store. When momma passed, the nurse came out to the house, it was around 2:30 am. She didn’t seem phased about the time and she was wonderful! She pronounced momma and then cleaned momma up before she called the funeral home. I think she even used essential oils when she bathed her. It was a sad but very reverence and spiritual experience. I just felt so peaceful. Now, the chaplain even calls to check on us every so often to see how we’re coping with momma’s loss. It was a God send all they did for us! I highly recommend these folks. Some of the most caring and compassionate individuals I have ever met and I will NEVER forget any of them! Thank you!
We enjoy working with Kindred hospice! Very diligent, attentive, and friendly. Always willing to do whatever will make the patient happier & at ease.
They told us our loved-one was accepted, then changed their mind, but did not have the class to return my multiple messages inquiring about our status. I finally got the local director on the phone and he matter-of-factly said we were rejected--as if we were somehow supposed to have magically known that. He never apologized for their shabby behavior. Their Chaplin is a fine person, and I assumed the rest of the organization was of like manner--but in our experience they most certainly are not. We will go with another agency whose representatives keep their word and treat suffering families with at least basic courtesy.
Very impressed with the kindness and care of my husband while receiving hospice services. A special shout out to Chaplain Dwight for his excellent spiritual support and humor. The nurses were also professional and skilled, The aides were terrific. Thank you for your service.
Poor support. Our mother is at home dying and a nurse was called at 3 a.m. and it is 6:14 p.m. and no one has showed up. Several times in the two weeks we have called and been told conflicting information about medication and nurses have only showed up about 3 times. Our mother has progressively worsened and the advice was mostly handle it yourself. Try this or that or they just didn't know especially when she started vomiting bile which was such a shock. Our Mother is lying here with labored breathing and has slipped into a semi to un conscious state. What do we do when she actually dies?
I’ve been in healthcare for over 16 years and have made numerous referrals to Kindred. They are a very thorough and compassionate group of caregivers! #1 in my book!
Kindred took care of my grandmother and her care was exceptional. The staff was very caring and helpful!
Care was so comforting and thorough. I don't know how we would have made it without Hospice and their wonderful staff.
