Absolutely love their cakes. I’ve ordered them for a few occasions now and they are always fresh, beautiful and a decent price. Also, one of my favorites is their fruit tarts and chocolate mouse cake.
So one of the girls put this cooking class together so was looking forward to it. We paid $75 each. When I arrived I realized the cooking class took place inside the supermarket. When I walked in somone walked me to the culinary area. I was greeted, signed in and the lady took my temperature. The instructor Steve and his assistants had masks on the whole time and so did we. We were making seafood dishes: clam chowder, risotto, crab stuffed shrimp, slaw, cod and a butter cream cake. Each of us paired up to make each dish and when finished we packed it up so we could bring it home due to Covid. The class was very hands on and Steve was very thorough and quick with each station. We made everything from scratch which was a first for me. When I got home I ate. I had to add a little season salt to some items but it wasn't bad. The chef really didn't push for us to add to much salt. We did a good job as a group. It was definitely a fun class.
Very nice store with a lot of gourmet selections. Prices have gone up very significantly, some are almost unreasonable now. But the store is under construction, and hopefully it'll be much nicer when it's finished.
Best grocery store I've ever been in. And it's not just this one. Kings, period. Amazing food, amazing selection, and friendly staff. I wish our stores back home were this great!
This is the main place I shop for food. The people are absolutely the best & they go out of their way to help you. You may pay a little more but the service is superior.
Today, I’m having a birthday celebration with my grandmother, of who I share a birthday with! I went to Kings to pick up my custom cake in excitement for today. However when I picked it up, I discovered that it did not have the happy birthday message my mother had placed for me. Instead, it had a large sign comparable to a billboard saying “Mid Atlantic”. After I talked to management, they told me this was my cake, and they did not give me a wrong one. I don’t know how this happened… Edit: The people who gave me the cake were extremely helpful. This was under no circumstance their fault. Their willingness to help me is the only reason why this review is not a one star. They handled the situation very well. Edit 2: Interior of Cake was not the one I ordered either. Cake tasted good, but the mistake of getting the wrong cake is extremely disappointing.
Holy End Caps Batman! It’s been a while since I’ve shopped here. But this was always our go to for convenience, and quality products. Easyto park, easy to get in and out of the store. The prices are higher than the store across the street, but convenience has its cost. I’m ok with that. BUT I couldn’t believe the amount of aisle end caps and added displays that the store has now. There is no way to navigate this store with a shopping cart. The extra space around the aisles is now taken up with displays and shopping cart traffic jams will surely ensue. They’ll have to put traffic lights in the store soon. Lol. It’s great to have the added products, but this has now made this store just as inconvenient as the one across the street. Grab a hand basket, it’s the only way I see to get through without saying “excuse me” a 100 times.
I always liked shopping in Kings Supermarkets best. I know they are currently owned by Acme & more & more changes are being made but l find it very expensive & a lesser quality of their items now. Very disappointing-not a fan anymore & looking for a new grocery store. Wegman's is a great place I hear.
Have loved shopping at Kings for years. In this upscale market you can find a range of produce, meats, fish and cheese not available elsewhere. I would not shop here for paper goods, cleaning products or other daily needs because they are available elsewhere for less. But when I want a good cut of meat or fresh fish, I head to Kings.
Overall, the Kings Supermarket in Short Hills is a great store. The staff is usually always welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable. The cleanliness of the store is usually always great. Everything is usually always stocked. Today, however, was a little different, which is why I'm not providing 5 stars. It was quite a bit messy around the salad bar where I was getting my lunch today, and the cashier was too focused on talking to a co worker and wasn't too attentive. I would recommend this location.
