Excellent experience here. Great room overlooking the ocean. Small kitchen/dining area with microwave, coffeemaker, fridge and sink. A couch and chair in a small living room area. Service was excellent. The complimentary breakfast had everything from scrambled eggs, waffles, bacon, grits, hot and cold cereal, fruit, muffins, juice and coffee. Complimentary Happy Hour drinks from 5:30-7pm. Friendly attentive staff. We will definitely return.
My recent stay at Embassy Suites by Hilton Myrtle Beach Oceanfront Resort left much to be desired. To begin with, I felt thoroughly unwelcomed during check-in, which set a disappointing tone for the stay. Upon entering the room, I couldn’t help but notice the numerous unsightly stains on the carpet. The lack of cleanliness was concerning, and my unease only grew when I inspected the air conditioner vents, which appeared dirty and had dark spots that resembled mold. However, I must commend the hotel’s location, which was excellent, offering easy access to the beach. The pool area was also well-maintained and provided a relaxing environment, and the nearby beach was pristine and enjoyable. Unfortunately, our stay took a turn for the worse when our entire family fell ill with head colds afterward. I strongly suspect that this may have been due to unclean filters and air conditioner vents in our room, which is unacceptable and a significant concern for any guest. In summary, while the hotel’s location and some amenities were appealing, the unwelcoming check-in experience, stained carpet, and concerns about air quality left a lot to be desired. The health issues that followed our stay were a significant drawback and a cause for serious concern. I sincerely hope the hotel management takes these issues seriously and implements improvements to ensure a more inviting and healthier experience for future guests.
Let me first say, this was resort was perfect for our family!!! The proximity to the pool and ocean was incredible. It never seemed overly crowded despite the volume of people. The interior and exterior of the building were very clean. The staff all were very nice and helpful. We had an ocean view/pier view suite with 2 queens. The bedroom was a tight squeeze but we were fine. The pool closes at dusk which was a bit of an inconvenience. There is a pool at a different hotel that is open later but we decided to walk on the beach instead. Beware of pool service if you're ordering drinks or food. It took over an hour and was ridiculously expensive. All in all, our family had a fabulous vacation and plan to return again next summer!!
Just returned from my first visit to the Embassy Suites at Kingston since the renovations. We had visited the hotel prior but had yet to return. Overall, we had a great stay, but it isn’t without some complaints. First and foremost, this is the only hotel that I have stayed at in three years that is adequately staffed. Not only is it well staffed, but every member of the staff was also incredibly knowledgeable and kind. Breakfast was great, as was the evening reception. However, it is very apparent that the majority of the 60+ million-dollar renovation went into the exterior of the property. The new water park is great, but the rooms are lacking in critical areas. The plumbing all gurgles and flows very slowly. Air conditioning held up but only barely at night when we were in the room. I can’t imagine what it will feel like in the heat of summer. Balcony doors don’t actually lock. Additionally, of the 6 or so brand new hammocks, only one remains currently. I was told that they were damaged in a storm but I am hard pressed as to how they hadn’t been replaced and were not in the 6 days I was there with my family. Although my biggest complaint is with the handling of a special event during our stay. I booked the hotel months ahead of time, as I must schedule the leave of absence long in advance with my company. When logging on to check out our reservation a week or so before departing, there was a notification that the currents pool would be closed a few hours early for a concert. I was surprised this was the first I would be hearing of this and not having received an email or call directly. However, it was only the currents pool and for a few hours early, I thought. This was not the case and I was not under the correct assumption of what all would be closed. First, the pool’s beach front hot tub was closed for a full day before the concert and all day for the concert. Secondly, the staff began removing a fair amount of umbrellas around the pool two days before the concert and then even more so the day of the concert. Which left little shaded seating around the pool for my wife and young children. Lastly, the currents pool is actually the pool and both sections of the water park. It may be might fault for misunderstanding that information, but it was disappointing nonetheless. Again, we loved the resort and will likely be back. My only hope is that the utilities within the facility are maintained and that I would not be so ill informed of an event taking place during the stay that I had no knowledge of at the time of my booking.
Wife woke me up Thursday morning and said, "I'm taking our daughter to the beach tomorrow...are you coming?" Now we leave Boone,N.C. 300 miles from the any beach. So...what do you say to that besides, Okay. Daughter4 loved every minute, which is priceless. Resort was awesome, Kingston Plantations Condos North Myrtle Beach Quarters were so,so. Opted to stay where we landed and make the best of it. She's 4 and knows no difference. Prices were decent. Food is not bad at the Black Drum inside the complex. May add more later...
Room had bugs in it all along wall. Switch rooms, it had roaches. Moved refigerator and there was nest of roaches. I took pics and video. Then later in the evening foul smell was in the room, when I went to see where it was coming from the sink was full of water and looked like mud coming up out sink. Spoke to manager they did nothing about it but have housekeeping clean room. Totally disgusted!!!!! I am a Diamond member and will be following up. Rooms: Not worth the money.
EXCELLENT! This hotel was top tier! Breakfast with customized omelets! Beautiful, spacious suites, scenic balcony views, swimming pools multiple, and multiple conference rooms. They even had a swimming pool accessible to my elderly wheelchair bound father! He did want to leave! My family hosted a HUGE event and the hotel was able to accommodate all of our needs! Walkability: There is a beer brewery within walking distance. The hotel basically has everything you need, but it is not located within walking distance of anything! However there is a Walmart, Bojangles, Five and Below, and a Dollar Store about 3 miles away. Food & drinks: They have an amazing breakfast! Plus happy hour in the evenings with free drinks and party snacks! Happy Hour is also kid friendly, and you can get you kiddos non-alcoholic pretty drinks as well!
I have become increasingly frustrated with this resort. We go for a family conference and despite the renovations, hotel management continues to demonstrate a lack of hospitality. Today has been the final straw. We have been at the currents water park for 3 hours and all towels have been out. Front desk couldn't help so they brought Jodi the manager out. I was surprised at his approach. Told me they didn't have towels at the front desk and they were waiting for a delivery to the pool. I explained pool staff said that hours ago and there are none. I asked him to have their maintenance/house keeping bring some and he told me he wouldn't do that. Tort replies. No apology or anything. Ridiculous. Struck up a conversation with the pool staff after. Sadly, they weren't surprised. I could write endlessly on other issues but I think this one example alone is probably the best illustration of what you'll encounter here.
