Most enjoyable library I've ever been in. Staff is very personable and friendly. Love going there
Our family enjoys visiting this beautiful library with such a thorough collection of children's books including classics and cherished favorites from decades past and up-to-date trustworthy reading material. Their programming for kids is second to none, which is a little surprising given their small town location. Beautiful artwork adorns the library walls and the grounds are beautifully maintained. Thoroughly pleased.
Community library with lots of great resources. Staff was kind and friendly.
This is a nice small town library located just past the circle in Kinsman. The library is clean and well kept. The last time I was here I didn't have the most helpful person assisting me. There is also a movie section in the basement. The selection isn't quite as recent as a larger library, but you can always request an item to be sent here. One thing I love about the Kinsman library is how quiet it is. This is a wonderful place to read or study.
I love the integration with the Cleveland library systems and the diversification of library materials, such as the ability to borrow technology that makes the internet and related resources more accessible for those who need it. However, I have had negative experiences with some of the staff members which make me feel unwelcome there. The staff seem to be inconsistently trained on policy and protocol, and ill equipt to deal with patrons needs in general. Particularly, the policies regarding the wifi hotspots have been inconsistently enforced among the staff, as well as the ability for patrons to lend their library card to a friend or guest. The staff should be accountable for inventory and distribution of the bags given out with tech items, and only enforce policy consistently. The staff also seem disinterested and at some times actively resentful towards questions from patrons. It seems that answering reasonable and appropriate questions should be a part of the job of being a staff member. And finally, I think that it is unprofessional for the library staff to line up around the check out desk and wait to clock out prior to the library closing or all of the patrons being tended to. On multiple visits, there were patrons including myself who needed additional assistance during this time but were not tended to because the staff was lined up and waiting to clock out. I see the role of a library as a community resource, and therefore, I think that the staff should conduct themselves with those interests in mind. The inconsistencies seem to be based on bias and circumstance, rather than policy and protocol. The library should be free and avaliable for the community to get the resources they need that the library can provide. I get that this is a small town, with limited resources and perspective, but the library ought to be a uniting factor among the community, not a dividing one.
Great experience. Beautiful library, beautiful setting. Very helpful librarians. Well stocked. Any tour of kinsman should include the library.
Nice old historic Carnegie library ....
Amazingly maintained collection, helpful personable staff. So friendly and welcoming to all!
Small town library but can get any book you want and have a excellent staff.
Clean, quiet place with a lot of activity opportunities on the bulletin pamphlet.
