Happy to have been able to stay here during the balloon festival. Perfect location! Fast check in. Clean and it always feels more safe staying on base! I just wish they had elevators, but for the nightly price, can't complain at all! Loved our stay!
Great place to stay. I'm not very picky when it comes to staying at places, but I was very surprised when I found out there were 3 rooms all to myself. There's food and stuff at the check-in, which some of it is complimentary. I just grabbed a coffee when I was there. All in all, it's a really great place to stay if you're around Albuquerque
Very impressed! Very Very clean! Huge room, older bathroom but honestly nothing at all to complain about. Head and shoulders above so many hotels I've stayed at recently. So quiet I almost forgot it was a hotel at all, fantastic nights sleep. Didn't have to worry about my car in the parking lot either, way safer on base nowadays.
We’ve stayed in our fair share of pet friendly TLFs and the one at Kirtland AFB is in an extremely sad state, one of the worst I’ve seen. It’s old base housing and really deteriorating see photos. This is no fault of housekeeping, the unit was fairly clean and equipped with standard toiletries, but no military family coming in after a stressful move and it’s always late at night should have to stay in lodging like this, especially multiple nights to weeks at a time. Additionally, the walls are quite thin and we could clearly here a screaming child in the unit next door. So glad we were only here a short time. Do better. Military families deserve better.
About average when it comes to an Air Force Inn. The regular rooms are actually quite large, almost TLF size, with a separate bedroom and living room. The rooms are clean, but clearly dated. Furniture isn't particularly comfortable and the bed was pretty small. WiFi is also pretty weak, but I was at least able to stream some shows during my stay so it got the job done. The rooms are quiet and I couldn't hear any of my neighbors. The check in lobby is completely separated from the rooms and tucked in to the corner of base. A bit of a hassle to find if you've never been here before. Staff was very friendly, but even in 2022 they don't have a true cleaning service. Over a week long stay, someone came in to my room twice just to take the trash and nothing else.
I stayed four nights in bldg 22018 on tdy. First walking into my room I was pleasantly suprised, anytime you can do military lodging and it doesnt smell like cat pee or have some infestation it is a win. In fact my room looked like a normal decent holiday inn. However the longer I stayed the more the oddities got to me. First, my room was approximately 400sqft but the room my colleague was twice the size. Second they advertise having a gym, well this is no more then a treadmill and elliptical in a small room. They have two other "gyms" in the adjacent building but upon visiting them I realized my hotel was best. Each of the other buildings had that distinctive wet/black mold AF smell. The gyms weren't much better but had they been I still wouldn't of worked out there for fear of mesothelioma. On a last note, the cable TV was very wierd, while switching channels it waits about 2 to 3 secs which makes it annoying to surf the tv
This is the worst TLF I have ever stayed at. 100 degrees out and no air conditioning? Lodging needs to tell people they have swamp coolers and not AC. The swamp cooler doesn’t even come close to cooling down the room. It was a miserable nights stay and I asked to be called by the manager. Surprise: no call back.
If you rate this place as anything less, it's because your standards are too high. As military lodging goes, it's excellent in every aspect. The proximity to a 24 hour gate and base amenities is a bit far but they have the canteen at the front desk and the all-ranks club is walking distance.
The fam and I stayed at Kirtland Inn because it's the half way point between our home and Ca. The lodging is totally worth what we paid. We usually stay at Hampton Inn but because they raised their rates for mil we opted to stay here. Our room fit our family of four comfortably. We stayed in visiting quarters which had a sofa sleeper and queen size bed. We brought our pack n' play for baby. The room could have used a few updates like replacing the windows and shower heads. The pics are after our stay...
This was on base and of course it has that structured feeling..."dress right dress" kinda feeling. The first day of checking in, the room was a mess and wasn't cleaned. Being that this was hot-air balloon festival season, we were afraid that we might not get a room. Well after visiting the front desk they fixed us up and put us in a different room. The staff was awesome and they took good care of us right away. Thank you for the warm hospitality and good memories of this place.
