Yes I can see why the place is very close to 5 stars on average, which is obviously very difficult for a business to achieve. None of the stuff for woodworking seems to be inexpensive, and this place is no exception. But overall the selection and proximity to my home make this worth doing. Like the community message board. Just remember that if you buy wood from an air conditioned shop like this one, don't rest it on the floor or, while it acclimates to a more humid environment, it will deform! Store it upright for a few days in your garage during the warm months so that both long sides get equal exposure to humidity. Quartersawn wood excepted, of course.
Always enjoy being able to view various carving knives and getting an honest answer from the staff. I am not local, so getting a knife I can't use is just a waste of time and money. Fortunately, I don't have that problem here.
Recently purchased a Saw Stop from the Asheville location. Jack was extremely courteous and took the time to answer all of my questions regarding my future purchase. This was hands down the most friendly, helpful service I have received. They appreciate their customers and it shows. They have definitely earned my business! Great selection of finishes, tools, abrasives, and equipment for all types of woodworkers. Helpful and friendly staff. Check out the bargain bins for wood and abrasives.
Hands down the best silicone carbide sand paper I've used. I make glasses and shot glasses out of bottles and go through sand paper like water. The place I was purchasing from discontinued their silicone carbide paper. I was referred to Kilingspor's by a friend and was ready to cringe at their prices after shopping at the big boxes. But, their prices are great and the staff was very helpful. I sand my pieces by hand and using Klingspor paper takes a lotless effort while lasting longer. Will continue to shop there.
Friendly, wood knowledgeable staff. Best variety of sandpaper. I think I have only been in the store for a few minutes and my family will say I was in there forever. Maybe I was dreaming of that next tool I needed.
Need something related to wood working? This is the place! I had a couple of questions and the people there were on point and helped out! Highly recommend for anyone looking for ANYTHING to do with you woodworking needs. They have wood pieces of all kinds from whittling tools and wood blocks, to slabs to make shelves or boxes, you name it! Very impressed!
Very knowledgeable, polite, and friendly staff who are woodworkers. I was impressed with the selection and pricing. I would recommend this store to anyone whether just getting into woodworking or the serious professional. I cannot recommend this store enough.
This place is well worth making a trip, even from great distances. They have virtually anything you need for a woodcraft hobby or occupation standpoint. They are very friendly and open to discuss items and tools with you, and have novice to master level tools and equipment.
