Love to camp here every year last week of August. Kids love it. Last hoorah before they start school. The sites are spacious. Bathrooms are clean and kept that way. We will be back.
We stayed at the knoebels campground. I'd give it 4.5/5 if I could. The rates aren't bad and the time of year we went Aug 23 to 25 it was pretty empty. Like maybe 15% full. If you are pitching a tent there are sites with or without platforms. You can see on the campground map which sites have platforms. I would recommend getting one of them as they are big. Almost 20 feet wide by maybe 10 feet deep or so. Comes with power source nearby and a picnic table. Also a metal ring you can move around for a fire pit. There are multiple bathroom locations that have showers. They are cleaned each morning and are not bad to use. Obviously don't come here expecting luxury. My only complaint is that some facilities could use repair. My shower yesterday had no shower head and only stayed on for less than 10 seconds every time I hit the button. You can't control the temp but it's not cold. People complain that the sites are too close together. We stayed in t21 which had plenty of space. Some of the lots more toward the middle are cramped, so book in advance so you can get a better one. You can walk right into the park from the campground and our spot was right by an entrance. There is a general store here if you forgot something, although I didn't check it out. Knoebels is also big on recycling as they have their own plant nearby and lots of bins to separate recyclables. Lastly, there is an old pool here that's long been closed down. Not sure if they'd ever reopen it but it's right in the middle of the campground.
Free admission for non riders and plenty of shade and benches. Sadly the food at the Alamo has taken a hit and we won't be eating there again. Everything else is as I remember from childhood! Now I'm bringing my own kids.
We really enjoyed camping here!! And had plenty of room, I'm sure it was because it was off season last weekend in April My son loved being able to walk to the amusement park... wish there would have been a little more rules, security there were a lot of younger children riding around in golf carts around 1:00AM. But other than that, we had a great experience!
I just returned from this place and I can tell you that it is the best for camping, it has everything you need to have a great time with family and friends
Super fun to camp and go in and out of the amusement park. Some of the sites can be changing if you are pulling a camper. The bath houses are out of date. they offer no heat and hardly any warm water. There are plenty of sinks to wash your hands but nothing to dry them on, or with.
This place is great to go camping because there is an amusement park on the campgrounds!

An absolutely beautiful hidden gem tucked away in the mountains around Elysburg Pennsylvania! A small piece of Americana that lives on!
Very nice Campground. Reasonable prices, firewood available at good cost. Very clean . Restrooms were very clean, but showers have ultra water saver heads- I'm not a fan of those! Good sites, nice fire rings. Easy to navigate overall a very good Campground Restrooms: Restrooms were clean, concrete floors. Why do seemingly ALL Campground showers have only one hook?
