Convenient, local store. I live nearby and stop in often for odds and ends, but don't do my main grocery shopping here. Prices are a bit higher than Cub/Aldis/Walmart/Target, but not awful. I eat plant-based. Produce is just OK. They have a few vegan products ice cream, sour cream, burgers, breakfast sausage, nuggets, "chicken" patties but not a large selection.
I've been going to this location since I was a kid, and nothing bad to say about it. Prices are good, produce is favorably priced, and the staff is friendly. Good size parking lot, too!
Small town grocer that always has what you need. Fresh produce is always guaranteed. The meat department has the best cuts and helpful staff to make sure you walk away with the right products. I am here almost daily to get their specials of the day. Thank Wild Bill for starting a legend of a store!
Nice store. I prefer Knowlan's to CUB any Day!
Always well stocked, not very expensive and a top crew to help you! Always nice to go local for groceries!
Friendly neighborhood store. The store is always clean and organized. Employees and managers are friendly and customer service oriented. I go often to shop their weekly flyer specials or pick up a few things here and there. The fresh bread goods, deli chicken and mashed potatoes are so good, too. I'm so happy to have a small local store to shop in that I don't mind spending a little extra here and there sometimes. We must appreciate a local store! Just know your prices and do your major shopping elsewhere. A friendly atmosphere where the employees get to know you by name, and the convenience of having your groceries bagged for you and loaded into your vehicle is worth it in my opinion.
I don't live in South St. Paul so don't shop here normally but I love that's it's a small town grocery store that seems to carry thing you would need. I go there for these special lemon cookies and make cookies. Haven't seen them anywhere else. Yummy!
love this little place! They seem to have just about everything the big box store on south Robert street does but no crowds and only about five blocks from our house. I am amazed at how many different things they stock and the folks that work there are "Minnesota nice".
It's a smaller grocery. Probably fine if you are a meat and potatoes kind of person. I eat plant-based and it's only got some things that are relevant to my diet. That said, it's like any other old grocery store around. They offer a few "on trend" things. I've seen a tiny gluten free section. I'm sure they would order things for you if you requested it, but they're not looking to be a cutting-edge grocer. I don't know how long they've been in SSP, but it's clear they have been around for a long time and would be dearly missed if they ever closed. I know they employ a number of high school kids. I like going here when I don't want to face the big crowds of the big box stores on Robert Street in West St. Paul. The prices are higher here simply because they are smaller, but it is so much more pleasant than any convenience store, when I only need a few things.
Nice store. Priced a tad high, but they had what I wanted. Also purchased and beef sticks that just didn't do it for me, but the dog loves them.
