Located in the scenic Ohio Valley / Geauga Lakes region (NE Ohio) Kool Lakes is definitely a long way from my Antarctic home, but it has become my favorite vacation destination when I need to get away from the snow and ice.
This peaceful Ohio campground is set in the woods and meadows around three spring-fed lakes, so I'm never far from a place to get wet and "keep kool."
The pristine 1.5 acre swimmin' lake is the perfect place to play on the water and catch a few rays on the sandy beach. The campground's facilities, including the covered pavilion and sand volleyball courts, are close to all the water fun. Anglers will want to bring their tackle to do a little fishing on the well-stocked 17.5 acre lake. Fish from the dock, launch your boat, or rent a rowboat, canoe or paddleboat and start reelin' 'em in.

Away from the water, your "hatchlings" will have hours of fun exercising their bodies and imaginations at the park's three playgrounds. I enjoy just hangin' out in the Clubhouse, kickin' up my flippered feet to watch a little TV or play video games, pool, ping-pong and checkers. The little ones even have an indoor activity center to enjoy. Drop by the camp store for supplies. Every weekend of the camping season at Kool Lakes Family Campground brings fun and frolic for all with their full schedule of events.
