This can easily be called “the campground of convenience.” It is located right on the beach and is a 5 minute drive into Nelson. You can have the best of both the urban and rural worlds in one ideal location.
We have tenting platforms right on the lake for you to set up on. Bring your own tent and bedding!
My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, families (with kids), and big groups.
There is a common kitchen area, please feel free to use the BBQ's and dishes. Enjoy the stunning lake views from the solar showers. This campground is off-grid and there are outhouses only, no flushing toilets. The Whistle Stop is good for couples, solo adventurers, families (with kids), and big groups. (You can rent the whole place! Sleeps up to 20 people)
This is a quiet, relaxing retreat, a great alternative to hotels; for budget minded nature lovers. Low impact, ecotourism destination.
We are close to hiking and biking trails. We can also offer a boat for hire if you’re interested in getting out on the lake.
