Wonderful, small museum with a very helpful staff. They allowed me to store my luggage while walking around the museum. They also had a few fun shirts and books available for purchase and a cafe area on the second floor.
Incredible museum with wonderfully curated exhibits. The staff is very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about Kurt Vonnegut and the collection. There's something for everyone here and a graffiti wall that you can express yourself.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$11–15
Stellar museum - small size, but experiential. I thought I’d listen to more of the audio clips for a self-guided tour, but I ended up just looking at the quotes, the artwork dedicated to Mr Vonnegut’s work, and his own art. Placing the historical context of his work as well as the women whose lives shaped his perspective was truly an experience. Would recommend to any literature or history buff, or anyone looking for a unique museum experience
Lovely, quiet tribute to an excellent human being. If you're interested in a guided tour rather than self-guided via QR code, be sure to mention that coming in.
This is the lowest rating I’ve ever given a museum. It isn’t a bad place, it just doesn’t have much to see. For $12 admission there should be more than a typewriter and a few displays. The slaughterhouse 5 exhibit was good, but not worth the price of admission.
Freaking amazing place. There is so much great artworks and exhibitions. They have so many events there. If I lived in Indianapolis I would go hang out here all the time. They’ve got so many events you can attend for some culture and life in the city. Music, literature, art, etc. They also have a great bookstore and souvenir shop if you’re really into it. Such a great treasure that downtown Indianapolis has this.
Unique museum or exhibition with great staff. There is also a coffee bar with a piano, one that I had played on.
Great tour by Zach - worth the small extra fee. Lots of local and world history is here and you can learn much by reading or listening to the exhibits. The banned books exhibit is a valuable one for today’s young people. A gem of a small museum.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$11–15
I recently listened to Slaughter House Five and was not a fan. I don’t enjoy the disjointed, stream of consciousness type of writing. I came to the museum with low expectations. I thoroughly enjoyed the museum. The layout was comfortable and easy. The copy easy and quick to read. I gained an appreciation for the author and man that was not precious there.
