Owners Benjamin and Amaila Landeros have been sharing their personal families Mexican recipes and catering to Santa Cruz locals since 1989.
The business first started as “Restaurante La Troje” located in Seabright, Ca., and later moved location further up the coast to Davenport where the restaurant re-oped and named La Cabaña (the Cabin). The little restaurant looked like a small cabin and was directly across the street from the beautiful Pacific Ocean view, similar to to the cabins that alight the beached of Mexico.
Although a quaint restaurant, the menu still flourished with delicious authentic and creative Mexican food. Ranging from Abuela Maria’s sweet mole enchiladas, chile rellenos made in the Michoacan/Colima way (served in a broth); to offering a variety of vegetarian options, such as spinach, mushrooms, artichoke hearts, and nopales, for your tacos and burritos. Additionally, La Cabaña is locally known for their Mexican street style hamburgers and other vegetarian/vegan dished.
Today La Cabaña Taqueria has two locations, in Santa Cruz and Soquel where you can continue to find delicious authentic Mexican food, creative choices, and a warm and friendly environment.
