Lackland Library

I went into the library today for paperwork that needed to be submitted. As I walked in looking for my Military ID I was was aggressively asked what did I need ? From across the room mind you. Answering that I needed to print of a form once I located my ID. They said we are closed. I said what time? 4:00pm. I asked how was I suppose to know and how are we notified on base if you closed early? I googled the hours and the doors were still unlocked The tall woman in a beige sweater with brown hair snickered and said “it’s on the door” micro aggressions. I briefly ignored her before asking the other women who were causally standing around a question. “Where is the notification if we are not on Facebook? They just paused and stared at me. So I asked if “the notification was the Facebook page and door of the library?” “Yes” they said. On my way out of the door I let the woman in the beige sweater know that her comment/snickering was uncalled for. Mind you I walked in just at 10 min till 4pm google said 530pm. Everyone standing around on their phones ready to leave because “it is holiday hours”. Guess they all forgot the meaning of the holidays. This library and staff need updated training. Since they are all a team and appear to forget this is resource for the base community. Service field. I will never return to use anything provided by the Library and their staff who lack for proper training for human need and interaction. Do yourself a favor and avoid the mistreatment from this library with it’s lack of advancement.

This is one of the last real libraries in the Air Force, and it's a great library. They have children's, YA, and adult sections, all with a decent and well-organized selection. This library isn't large, but it's a well curated collection. In many ways, this offers a nice advantage, since you can easily browse and find interesting books to read. They also have a huge selection of DVDs. Definitely recommend.

Library computer services were really helpful in my retirement transition. Recently had to use computer 30 min before closing. I was unaware of change in process to use computers. A male staff w glasses was really rude. I was sadly surprised, & remind him that this us a base where you work for young serviceman & retirees who deserve help, although maybe repetitive annoyance to you at times, a much needed facility for us.

The two Caucasian females; one wearing glasses are always gossiping about other people. They choose and pick who they want to be friendly with. Both appeared dull and with no personality at all. And if you ask them for some help, the one with glasses on, act irritated as if you have inconvenienced her.

Staff never helped me ,said they would and didn't. Left to lunch and sipposedly to run errands,so did not have a return time.all different staff at different times but same excuse given to me.

I have mostly visited to use the computers. The staff are friendly, courteous and helpful.
