Food is pretty good for the most part. For military members is by far the cheapest and most convenient way to eat if you are on a budget and need to watch the foods that you eat. Fresh fruits and veggies and variety of proteins and carbs for the average joe, and limited roster of drinks.
Food is amazing, cashier lady rude has an attitude everyday. Would give a 5 star if cashier service was not rude.
I was 2 minutes late and they said they cant serve me breakfast even though they probably throw it out anyway. Have been coming here because mesquites other dining hall closed for holidays and im used to those times and no where on live oaks windows do they have the times posted. I spoke to the boss and she was of no help. All staff here has some type of entitlement and are rude to the people there serving as if they are in the military themselves which is kind of funny. The whole staff is literally mad everytime I go in there like maybe you should just quit if you hate your job that much lol.
It's a military DFAC which should unfortunately tell you something. The quality of the food can suffer in the mainline. I'd say stick to the snack line most of the time for consistent "quality". It can be hard eating here and being full if you are counting calories or tracking macros. They have no nutrition information except for "this is green, this is yellow". I even asked for the full nutritional breakdown multiple times but was always told someone would contact me at a later date. Nothing ever happened. The biggest complaints here outside of the food would be how slow the checkout is. They have to scan your card, and it takes about a whole minute to register before they can ring you up, per person. Have this happen during rush hour with the two surrounding squadrons and you're looking at about a 30 minute wait or more just to get checked out. The staff members are also hit or miss. There are some great, friendly people working here but this experience can be ruined by a few other workers who are just plain rude and mean for no reason. They'll slam your food, roll their eyes and huff and puff if you ask them for things. I asked for a second scoop of something one day and this lady literally just stared at me for about ten seconds, slammed the food onto my plate and walked off. Im always polite so I'm not sure what the heck is wrong. Overall, it's a Dfac. It isn't healthy, no nutrition info is provided and it's going to be busy. Just wait a bit until you graduate tech school and can start cooking for yourself. It'll be worth the wait.
You're better off at the Amigo Inn. The cashiers here are rude and want to rush people through, even though it never gets that full. Food quality is less than a Hungry Man microwavable dinner or Kid Cuisine. Buy yourself a Hungry Man and spare yourself the unprofessional attitude the people give at Live Oak. Don't trust the 5 star positive reviews. I'd bet they were posted by the staff to balance the negative real reviews.
One of San Antonio's finest table service buffet style restaurant. The cuisine here is extravagant and it's always a delight to see what's on the menu. I love it so much that I eat here every day except for Sundays. 10/10 Would recommend to a friend.
Dora makes the best omelettes Jose makes great fries Lorma is the sweetest And Gracie always tells me to have a “blessed day” I love it here
Rude staff and awful food. If you’re here TDY, do yourself a favor and just pack a lunch/eat at Starbucks. You’ll save money and live a better life.
Majority of staff always have a scowl on their face. Food is hit or miss, but at least there's a decent variety of dietary options vegetables, meats, carbs, etc
Good food always. We appreciate you Live Oak staff!
