Great place to let ur dogs run! Plenty of parking. Two areas separated by fences, one for small dogs and the other for larger breeds. Each area has a couple of benches to relax while the dogs play. Don’t forget to bring a ball or toy and water. Highly recommend.
What an underated golden spot. No dogs were there this morning. Definitely going to use this place.
Wish there was more stuff here for the dogs to do not just an empty field. There should be a well or water for our dogs to drink water when it's hot. And more sitting areas but all-in-all I like this place
This area is great for beginner or Medium level dog training. Dogs can run free in a fenced area. Has plenty of parking and is a beautiful place. Also has doggy duty bags
This is a decent dog park. It has two separate areas one for dogs 25lbs or less and the other for larger dogs. There are benches and waste bags provided. There is not much in terms of shade so this could be quite hot in the summer months. The fence areas are very secure.
Love it. Thank you!
Took my sister's dog to run off some pent up energy on Sunday. He had a lot of fun. The park was clean. The only thing I recommend is to bring your own dog poop bags. I had my own but a few people didn't and used the ones provided by the park and they said that the bags ripped. Anytime I am baby sitting the dog I will absolutely bring him.
Plenty of parking. The main park area is disgusting, the walking path and grass are covered in goose poop. No walkway from walking path to the dog park entrance about 30 feet. Has a small and a large side, one double gate entry for both. Low fence, watchout for jumpers. I walked around both sides, and didnt see a single stray poop! Could have just been that the grass was so long i couldnt see em, but the trash cans had lots of poop bags in em, so seems the people who use this dog park are doing a phenomenal job cleaning up after their dogs!! The large side desperately needs work. About halfway through, there is a stench coming out the ground, like a raw sewage pipe is busted underground. I didnt let me dog wander near that area, it doesnt feel safe, and the noxious odor travels around the whole park. Ive been told its even worse after a rain cuz it floods and disperses the ick all over the grass. Also, no shade whatsoever, and no water fountain, so byow.
Its one of the few places to take your dog in this town and not be looked at like a pest when they dont have a leash on. Its spacious with a small pond and a little walking circle too. If it had a playground for the dogs and kids it would be perfect.
I love walking around the trail at smith field, especially when I'm short on time. We've brought our dog to the dog park, too. So glad we have one in Ashtabula! It has two sides for "big dogs" and"little dogs".
