Good Family camp ground. Okay Beach, Good trails Lookout trails Don’t forget to book Canoe/Kayak in advance for entire day Approx $50 with tax for two persons including life jackets . May be $60 for three persons Not much privacy between camp grounds, intermittent availability of showers.
If you want to start camping and don't have too much knowledge, you can start here. Place is well maintained and has all the necessities. Beautiful trail close by and kayaking is magical. Don't forget a mosquito repellent!
Beautiful place, but terrible experience. A park guard came to my campsite and asked “who is the permit holder?" without saying even a Hi or Hello. When I responded, she said I left my food unattended and would give me a 150 dollars fine. I was totally shocked. There are 3 adjacent campsites booked all by one of my friend and my friends stayed in the other 2 campsites she admitted this and that is why she only gave ticket to my campsite when I took kids to the beach. Before I left, I asked them to keep an eye on my campsite. The park guard didn't speak to my friends even though she knows all 3 campsite are under the same person' name and directly claimed nobody in my Campsite to take care of my food. When we explained to her, she said this could not be changed because the ticket was already written. Then, at the end, she took out a BLANK ticket and finished it in front of us. What A THIS CANNOT BE CHANGED BECAUSE THE TICKET IS WRITTEN. The whole process look like they just want your money, nothing to do with service or education.
Great campground. High bacteria count at the beach, so no swimming. Terrific for bicycles. Removed one star for trailer dump station. Hard to believe Algonquin has such a terrible dump station set up. There should be a 'Costco style' station at either end of the park.
Well organized campsite with clean washrooms and showers. It has also electricity for each camping site. There is a beautiful lake and great hiking trails just steps away.
Nice camping area. Less seclusion camps are surrounded by less trees. You can rent a boat or canoe at beach. Must try fries at the store
Lake of Two Rivers Camping Site: Serene beauty surrounded by towering pines and a crystal-clear lake. Well-maintained facilities, friendly staff, and abundant outdoor activities. An exceptional camping getaway for unforgettable memories.
The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because of the scenery, it's Algonquin after all. But the campground has been seriously lacking regular proper maintenance. First impression was the incredibly rough road. They had a sign up to say there road grading in progress, never saw a grader once in 6 days. I think the sign was only put up to try to get people to stop complaining about the roads. Our site was a pond, which fortunately did dry up. The staff didn't do anything but loan a water pump to try to dry get the water out and left it to us to pump the water out. And they only supplied that after pushing the staff to do something other than offer to move sites 3 times during our stay. They also need to do a lot better enforcement of not washing dishes at the taps. Most of the taps were being used to wash dishes and were swamps around them. While the sites our family had were very large which made the trip, that is really the only thing that I can say was a positive. I drive thru a couple other campgrounds, and they were.much better maintained from what I could tell in a drive-by.
Beautiful campsite, was a bit boring because of the fire ban but the place was breathtaking and it's a must visit if Algonquin is on ur list!
If you Google “the best places to camp in Ontario” this place will show up in almost every list you can find and it defines lives up to it. The campgrounds are spacious and well maintained. Washrooms are most of the times clean and usable. There is constant vigilance by park wardens during the day and nights. Careful not to leave your food outside when you leave your camp for too long and always follows rules here. The hiking trails are fun and exciting. From 30mins to several hours. I would recommend this place to anyone who loves to camp. there are many canoe rentals around who would deliver canoe to the lake and you can row away. The prices for canoe rentals start from $28 per day. Great place for stargazing if it’s a clear sky.
