The resort RV pads are 70ft long and only 17ft wide, so if you don't park your RV in the middle of your lot the lawn crew will blow grass all over your RV. If the lawn crew doesn't get your RV covered with grass from the lawnmower they will succeed when they edge trim around the concrete pad or blow your pad off and aim the blowers directly at your RV and vehicles. The sprinkler system will wash your RV for free every week because the sprinkler heads are few and far between and have to shoot a long way to cover the grass. We had water spots on the RV paint and vehicles. Their is an event center south of the park at the golf course and you get to hear loud music on the weekends that will drown out your TV in your RV. The resort is located outside the city limits of Elberta so the neighbors on the surrounding properties can and do shoot their firearms occasionally so don't be surprised when you hear gun fire close bye. The club house is nice and clean and the bottled free water is a nice touch. Some of the renters mentioned that they will not return because this property is more of a private community with lots for rent than a resort and they felt they did not belong or were appreciated because they were just renters. Oh, did I mention the cable and the internet is spotty and drops out.
This is one of the worst experiences of my life!!! They have no communication between rentals and sales!! I, myself do not live but my boyfriend does. He picked a lot and put his money down to hold the lot pending lot completion. The driveway cracked and it was his responsibility to have it repaired, even though he had not yet completed the purchase! Waiting on his lot completion he rented a lot indefinitely, but was forced to move because the lot was rented right out from under him. So, yes he had to move! Then he was expected to pay $480 a week while he waited on his lot to be completed! What the hell is wrong with these non-communicating lying people?! My stay was permanent not vacation or business!
This resort in my opinion is top notch. Lori in the office was Great! Beautiful site very well maintained. The few negative I read were from people who pride themselves with keyboard courage. We were there for 4 nights and where 100% satisfied. The best RV RV resort I have ever seen.
Had a wonderful time and met a lot of nice folks. The resort is nice and clean, quiet & friendly and strategically located between Foley AL & Pensacola FL.Rooms: 5/5
We recently spent three nights at Lake Osprey. It is absolutely one of the nicest parks we have ever been in. The grounds are beautiful, all facilities were very clean, and the staff that we interacted with made us feel right at home. We will definitely be back!Location: 5/5
First off, let me say that Osprey Lake RV Resort, Elberta, AL was not our original destination. We were enroute to Naples, FL from Michigan in late September 2022 but unfortunately Hurricane Ian changed those plans. As we altered our original plans, we ended up at Osprey Lake RV Resort. The resort is primarily an owner resort that also rents out RV sites. This is the first time we’ve stayed at an owner type resort. While the staff and owners were very nice, the resort lacks some of the “basics” you expect to have at an RV resort–camp store, propane fill, etc. We lucked out and had a firepit and camp furniture at our site. Some sites are “slab/utility” only and have no amenities. We stayed in the Northern end of the resort site 143 from Oct 2022 through Dec 2022. The utility hookups for this site are definitely geared for a 5th wheel. I needed to use my 50 Amp extension cord and 30 feet of sewer hose for my Motorhome. There was a lot of construction activity during our stay–grading, utility installation, sod installation, truck noise, diesel exhaust, blowing dust, ongoing owner home construction, etc. The “construction fatigue” was significant. The resort’s cable TV and wireless internet were not reliable. It seemed like most of the owners used Direct TV to solve the CTV issue and Starlink, Verizon, T-mobile, etc hotspot technology for wireless internet. I got a T-mobile home internet tower to meet our wireless internet needs. We gave up on trying to get the resort’s CTV to work. So long as there were not excessive thunderstorms/clouds in the area you could “sniff in” some over the air channels on the TVs. The resort is on town water supply. The water pressure was ok if you opted to forego a pressure reducer valve. Also, the water is extremely silty. Be prepared to clean/change water filters on a monthly basis. The facilities were nice. The gym, pool area, and club house were top notch. There's free laundry machines. The weather was very erratic during our stay so we only got to use the pool/hot-tub once. The dog run was relocated during our stay. It was pretty soggy/wet so we opted to walk the dogs on the resort's roads. While we were glad to find Osprey Lake RV Resort during Hurricane Ian’s wrath, the resort is definitely focused on site ownership. Take that into consideration if you are a traditional RVer.
We were greeted by friendly people with a professional welcome pack of information. The sites were professionally finished. My one suggestion is to offer a rental or courtesy golf cart. The laundry was very nice but it was far from our site and we didn’t have an extra vehicle.
Worst RV Experience Yet. First, Happy Memorial weekend to all! My husband is a 33+ year USAF vet and we myself and 10-year-old daughter had reservations at this campground we stayed at 2 times before when it first opened a few years ago. Well, I guess the place sold and we got there to check in and you have to be 28 feet or longer and 10 years or newer got the second part to stay there. I guess I should have read better. I have seen class A only campgrounds but man, check closely it can be by length now too. We tried to plead our case to stay even one night to rest and leave in the am and nope. Would not budge. Off you go small people. We drove home and unpacked. So, read the fine print even if the website says they take class Cs. It’s on me but they could have been nice and let us stay one night. They knew we would not be able to find a spot on Memorial weekend. It was a terrible experience to have to leave our other friends who are still there this weekend and have to come home. Lesson learned but this may spare y'all. Staff and management were the worst we have ever had in our travels since 2016. * Other fun facts to note: I was able to make the reservation online with our RV just fine without any alerts about size. The system gave me my confirmation like normal. When we got to check-in, the front desk staff told me I put 28 feet on the reservation and showed me where someone had handwritten 28 on the paperwork...with a pen. I would have not written 28 from the computer. I would not have put in our length wrong, period. We are good RV people. They also kept our one night of $99 since we canceled the reservation or could not check in. Our rig: 2016 Winnebago J View
If I could have gotten my money back and left, I would have. This is not a RV resort from my perspective, rather it is a RV Community, or as they like to call it a "Country Club". If you like living in a "Coach house" with your RV parked outside next to it, then you're going to love this place. If you're a typical RV camping type family, it may not be for you. More don'ts than do's, and if you check in on SAT as we did, you are a pain to them because they have other things they want to be doing rather than waiting on "renters" to arrive and get checked in. They called us 3 times in 3 days to see if we were still arriving on SAT. Once should have been enough, we told them first time we were still arriving. Don't expect much from the office staff, as we went there looking for guidance on where to get something printed. The lady behind the counter preferred to ignore us and talk to one of the residents about getting her Jeep repaired, maybe not so bad but we were there before he even walked in, and she just stopped talking to us and began talking to him like we were not even in the same room. RUDE anyway you look at it. We stayed for 2 weeks because we had already booked it, for 2 weeks I don't think I saw anyone under 40 years of age. The WIFI was the worst Ihave ever seen in a resort, unsecured open network, so slow it was ridiculous. No picnic tables, no fire rings, and stay off the grass. I digress, now I'm ranting. The rules applying to anyone under 18 are even more strict, glad my grandchildren were not on this trip with us. They would have been miserable. There are more negatives but there were some positives. The grounds are beautiful, well maintained and manicured. The "residents" were friendly and always spoke or waved. Level lots, concrete pads that was just wide enough for our rig after the slides were out, barley room to set chairs in front of the camper and not be on the grass. IF you want to park your RV in a community and build you a "Coach house" then you may want to consider this place. If you are looking for a real RV resort/park, you may want to go somewhere else.
Lake Osprey was absolutely everything we desired and more. From the hospitality, pool, laundry, fitness room, pickleball to the cleanliness of the resort, it was !! We will most definitely be making a trip back. We came to the south for the beach but only went one time! That says a whole lot traveling with two teenagers. Great job Lake Osprey
