Lake Shawnee Campground

Stopped here for the night while traveling through. The entire campground was well maintained. We opted for the lakeside site with 30 amp hookup and it was only $24/night. Very clean restroom/ shower house. A great playground. Spots had fire ring/picnic table. Level spots. Nicely kept grounds and walking/bike trails. Plenty of trees along the waters edge perfect for hammocks. It was very quiet and we felt safe the entire time. Would definitely recommend.

We've camped in all the lower48 states over the last 25 years and Lake Shawnee with 140 campsites is a real gem! You cannot beat the $22 - $24 price for being lake view or lake front. The sites are water and electric with a dump station in the park and wide gravel sites. The park is huge, 1,100-acres of will cared for grass with shade trees. Surrounding the lake are foot trails, a disc golf course, a marina, tennis courts, storm shelter houses, and ball diamonds.

First place we ever camped in our van. It was like a dream. Beautiful serenity on the lake and a close by swimming spot for us and the dog. It wasn’t extremely busy and the weather was perfect. The showers were clean and very well maintained. Will be staying there again! Highly recommended!

TARC Winter Wondeland never disappoints! There was a ling line snaking in but it moved quickly and the traffic was well organized. Lights were beautiful! The volunteers who help out are amazing people, out there night after cold night working to help fundraise for TARC. We truly enjoyed the drive through.

The campground is really well kept and very organized! AC bathrooms/showers and lots of places to enter the lake to get some water action. It looked like every spot had at least 1 picnic table and some good grass area behind it to spread out some. Every spot had a fire pit too! Very friendly staff and a welcoming environment, super dog friendly too! Thanks for all the help and the comfortable stay!!

Very clean, quiet, and easy to get into camping spots. Some sites had great green space behind. Only negative is the sites are a little close together. Photos from Site 78

They had blue algae and you couldn't swim. The only refund they offered was a future credit which doesn't work if you are passing through. Facilities looked nice but I didn't stay overnight.

Easy to make reservations, green grass, big beautiful trees and shining lake. Hot water with plenty of pressure for a great shower. Only not any really division between spaces.

The place is full of inconsiderate people and it seems quite a few of them stayed here the night we did. Very loud until 2 AM and the people next to us had an outdoor light actually a living room lamp shining into us all night. They looked like they were living there so we were afraid to say anything-“lots of crying and drama going on. The place is very clean and all the sites are “near” the water but basically on the road. No hot water in the sinks in the bathroom but they are air conditioned!
