It's really pretty and the camp sites are nice. You can gring a boat and fish and get good catches. The weather is super nice if you go in the fall.
Excellent swimming experience at this Oklahoma State Park. This comment comes from a user of mainly the Texas State Parks. Water was so warm and tranquil in the middle of July 2023.
It was nice spot, the lake water is clean. There was alot of options available for BBQ and bonfire, however, not much to do like trails etc. Luckily I was having my inflatable kayak, having that the time spent was fun.
Our first trip to this spot , We loved it here for the weekend! Definitely be back. Restrooms: Nice Dog-friendliness: Love seeing dogs! Picnic area: There are lots of tables to sit at.
The park was nice as was the marina. Our fire ring was missing and when I asked for one, I was told they were out. No worries. My boys and I made our own. The main issue I had was with how the campsites were laid out. They were too close and ours was very unevenly spaced. I would have booked the site next to ours had I known. Our tent was literally crammed into the corner of our site. The bathrooms could also do with a redo and more hiking trails would be nice. Also, the public access to the lake during the day meant the days were filled with lots of obnoxious and drunk folk driving in and out constantly. I was happy when the lake closed every evening! But overall, we had a pleasant stay and truly enjoyed the beauty of the area.
It's an alright state park, not the best. Nothing fun or historic to see, and only 1 actual hiking trail on the map. It's a good spot for camping/RV. The beach areas are nice, but it's not the cleanest water of all the state parks. Lots of bees when we were there
Very good state park for day picnic or night camping. It has good some nice swim areas and family friendly. Either a day picnic or night camping , you will never regret choosing this. Highly recommended. Playground: Lots of areas for kids to play. Restrooms: Most of the restrooms are clean. Don’t choose the last one in Cat Fish Bay though Picnic area: Nice picnic spot and unreserved tables available for day outing. You need to book a campsite if you are planning to camp there. Usually camping tile starts at 5 PM CST.
It's beautiful...go if you can.
A great hang out place near to Dallas for weekend trips. Lot of grills for barbecue lovers right beside the lake with concrete tables to sit and enjoy the food and drinks. More than a lake and less than a beach. You can drive almost into the lake and enjoy the water view. Perfect place for picnics.
We looked forward to spend a beautiful day outdoors and this park was just over packed with campers. Which is odd because we're all supposed to be social distancing ourselves. When we got their we went to the office, seeing the sign on the door of a limit, we opened it to see how many people were in there if any. The park ranger yells at us to get out since there was a limit, so strike one, the the over crowed place strike 2. We got out to stretched a bit and got out of there.
