I went to this place a few times when I was a kid, and always loved it. the nature exhibit they have is awesome and all of the staff are too. I brought my daughter here today, not crowded at all! My daughter enjoyed the exhibits in the science museum especially the kitchen area. The nature center was my favorite! The 2 gentleman and women are so nice! Oliver is hilarious the bird the cave downstairs is super cool and all of the animals cages are well taken care of. My daughter loved the turtles and snakes they have on exhibit, and the little play center for toddlers is adorable. We didn’t go on the train or the playground due to the extreme heat but Definitely recommend if you’re looking for something FREE and fun! Donations are always accepted here!
It’s unfortunate that we have to leave a poor review, but I was disappointed in one member of the staff today. Sandy, who seemed like she may be the manager, was very rude. After younger members of the staff told us and other groups to come back again and again to gain entrance into the museum, we were continuously turned away for “another 15 minutes until the field trip ended”. Sandy came out and rudely stated that “this is how it’s always been”. We were waiting for another 15 minutes to be over after HER STAFF said we would be able to enter. She let the door slam in our faces after saying goodbye to the field trip as well. After our trip, we saw that she posted about the field trips on the Facebook page AFTER our trip. We pointed out that it would be convenient for those who travel to know this ahead of time. She deleted our comments multiple times then blocked us. This is completely unacceptable and inappropriate behavior of one who serves the community. Other staff was wonderful but Sandy made our trip to that section of the museum very unpleasant. It’s sad that we are discouraged from coming back.
This is a great spot for kids to explore. It also is a great spot for camping. The staff at at nature place were very nice and they have a bunch of reptiles and some chinchillas and flying squirrels. They also had a talking bird. The people there were so nice they helped us out since out generator went on out ac in the camper. Can't fine help like that anymore. They were the most helpful men even offered to give us their own to borrow. Thank you for a great experience.
The cutest little place! My kids had a blast! A few of the exhibits could use a touch-up from years of being so loved! But my kids had absolutely no complaint. The planetarium show was just long enough that the kids didn't lose attention. There's a GREAT playground outside of the center as well!
This was great and my 3 toddlers 2,3,3 were really enjoying it until my 2 year old threw a Lego down the opening from 2nd story and the older white lady with short blonde hair yelled at him/me from down stairs. When I said “I’m sorry, he’s 2” she kept on rudely so we left and won’t be back!!
Ellis had an amazing staff team that was very knowledgeable about the subjects they presented from the solar system to a really well maintained reptile exhibit. They where very hands on and even involved some of the children in the presentation
It is NOT open on Sundays. As me and my family found out after a 45 min drive. At least there was an outdoor park that was entertaining for them so the trip wasn't a complete waste.
Sunday. September 3rd it was closed, though online it said it should've been open.Visited onWeekendReservation recommendedNot sure
We visited this past Friday from Maryland and spent about 3 hours there. It was raining so my granddaughter did not get the chance to enjoy the playground. However I found the staff to be kind, and friendly. My granddaughter Summer loved the planetarium and the Nature center as well. Especially the turtles and Oliver. We are looking forward to visiting again in the Spring, so we can enjoy the river, and the park. Thank you for making it so enjoyable for my granddaughter, and our family.
Everything was pleasant except for the guy working in the planetarium. He was so rude and disrespectful. Either he had a bad day or that's just his personality. Either way he should of carried himself in a professional manner and talked to my family with some respect. For my family and I to be guest from out of town and new to the area, this was an experience that I wish we didn't have to have. I would suggest reevaluating your staff; especially him because he's a bad apple.
