They are doing the best that they can for my Siamese buddy. He has a bad infection and they working on it. He will be 17 on June 10th and I want him home to enjoy it. He's such a good boy and my buddy. Say lots of prayers for him.
Great place , great people, they have always got my fur babies in when needed. And I want to say , thank you, we appreciate everyone there.
We've been bringing our now 11 year old "super senior" dog here for several years and they have always done an excellent job taking care of her. She's been there for things as minor as nail grinds all the way to x-rays, dental cleaning with anesthesia and even laser therapy. She's been seen by all of the doctors and they all are extremely knowledgeable and are truly caring and compassionate! They go out of their way to be extra gentle with her she's had back surgery and is generally more fragile in her old age and give her lots of pets and reassurances when she's in for any visits. I really appreciate that they really are honest and upfront about treatments and options and I never feel like they are needlessly adding services or trying to "sell" extras. Instead they focus on what treatment is appropriate for her based on her health and whatever variables are present at the time. Also the Techs are really amazing and are always so friendly and and caring as well. It's a good feeling when you bring your pet in and you see them genuinely smile and recognize them immediately. I am always confident that she is in good hands whenever she is there.
Has the warm, hometown, they actually care kind of feeling! Scheduling might be a little difficult due to short staff, but so worth the wait! They are very knowledgeable, and caring! I'm so glad I found them!
Lakeland Animal Hospital really provided our family with an amazingly personal yet highly professional experience. Our dog was struggling and Dr. Dunn and staff were empathetic yet clear and calm with our care options. Though we made the extremely difficult decision to end her suffering humanely, Dr. Dunn and staff made the experience smooth and professional and our Hanna passed as peacefully and humanely as I had hoped for her. You can trust them with your pet and expect a high level of care and dignity.
it was jan.18th my cat had been sick 2 days prior and wanted to get an appointment. I was refused because we were considered a new patient and they were not accepting new patients. we have been coming to the vet since the 1980s. That was a shock to me because Lakeland was the go to place when my cats were sick. I got the impression they were trying to say your animals were not sick often enough to be considered a patient of theirs. As i said before i was shocked and had never been turned away before.
If you have a large dog that barks and anything remotely resembles a pit/bully breed, both of the male doctors have been afraid of my dog and did nothing to comfort him or talk to him over the years. Never received a full exam when the men checked him. We came from another vet when we moved and ALL of the vets plus their vet assistants got him calmed down within 2 min because they made an effort to calm him down. We never even have a vet assistant in the room here. We switched to Dr Mellis and now she only does surgery. Only one male vet available Dr. Dunn. Had to put our dog down this weekend and Dr Dunn and Ashley seemed to rush us and couldn't wait to get us out the door as soon as possible. They do NOT offer any type of paw print/imprint for your baby you are putting down. Never heard of a vets office NOT doing this. Had to go by my own kit. The only reason I gave 2 stars is because Dr Mellis is great and SOME of the office staff. We will be moving our other dog to a different vet.
Dr. Dunn saved my buddy's life when he contacted Blastomycosis when he was one and a half years ago and he turned 16 on Jan 2nd and still going good thanks to Lakeland animal hospital, Dr. Dunn and all the staff there. They call my Buddy the wonder dog because he almost died.

Called the office around 230pm. My dog had a seizure and was laying lifeless. Called Lakeland and was told there were no appointments available today. I replied this is not an appointment this is an emergency. Put on hold. Then told I had to take her somewhere else. My dogs have been coming to this clinic for years. She eventually died at a 24 hour emergency vet. Too bad they are so busy they could not take time to see a dying patient.
