This is where I've been going for over 10 years now, and this place has given me nothing but wonderful experiences. Dr. Schnurer is truly a great doctor. He's kind, patient, and thorough; he makes me feel like he really cares about my health. The nurses that work with him are always friendly and on point as well. The staff there handles my prescription refills quickly and works with my pharmacy so I virtually never have to do a thing and I cannot say the same for any other doctor I've seen. I really never have to call or check on anything. I saw Dr. Schnurer last week on Tuesday, and he wrote me a prescription for something that needed a prior authorization from my insurance. I received a text from my pharmacy on Friday morning that it was ready. I literally could not believe it was handled so fast!! Any other doctor I've seen that has to handle that scenario can literally take weeks, even months. So hats off to all the staff at Lakeshore Medical- in the 10+ years I've gone there they have never given me reason to complain, and given me so many reasons to give them accolades!
I have never been so disappointed in customer service in my life. I made an appointment 6 months ago and had an appt today 12/19/22 @ 4:40. I get here and sign in only to be called up and say that Dr. Schnurer had been sick and has been cut down to two days a week and that they need to reschedule for another time when he is in. So I asked the receptionist to please grab a manager so maybe she can resolve the situation. By the way I left work early and I work 1 hour away. When I was approached by the so called manager Shameka Ervin. She proceeded to tell me that they called me twice and that my phone number of 30 years was invalid. I laughed and said you must have the wrong phone number as I never had any missed calls or voicemails from her. Basically she was lying about ever calling me. I am beyond disappointed in the lack of communication and lying to the patients. I wish she would have just told me the truth and said she dialed the wrong number or something then I would’ve been ok with this. I will be looking for another doctor because this place needs help in there management. I have already reached out to patient experience to hopefully rectify this situation and they realize that certain people make this place a 2.4 out of 5. Love all the doctors I have had but the manager lying to my face makes this an unpleasant experience.
The doctors are great but the front office staff aren't nice. I was treated rudely the last time I came in for a shot I wasn't listened to and I was lied to about it being illegal to give me the shot since I was a few weeks late and I won't be going back. If you can handle being treated like dirt by office staff you won't be disappointed by the doctors.
Nurses are awesome, Jasmine is great. Doctors are wonderful, they give you no nonsense when talking to you. They are honest and talk English to you instead of doctor language.
I have been a patient with Macomb lakeshore medical for 3 years. I was satisfied with the level of patient care. Dr. Bloom left for medical leave in November after giving birth. I was given choices of doctors replacing Dr. Bloom until she returns. I was calling in for medication refills and no medication for 5 days. 2 months in a row. I physically went into office to get my refills. I now have a bladder infection. I went into office for a urine analysis and was informed by staff that I would receive a call back. That never happened. I have left several messages on answering machine. Never a return call. I am thankful that Dr. Bloom is returning early from medical leave next week. Hoping for a change of patient care, if not, I will be looking for a new pcp.
I can't get past the front desk. Every time I call, no matter what time of day or day of the week, there's always at least 3 calls ahead of me. Trying to find out why I haven't received a script for heart medicine that I've been out of for over a week. I've called the medicine line for two weeks, still don't have my meds. They need to start with a front desk staff that cares more about their job!
Called the office to schedule an appointment for my mother who has, what we can only assume to be cellulitis she’s had it before and this is exactly the same issue, and was told that she can’t be seen until December 29th. When I questioned that date because cellulitis can lead to death if not treated, the woman on the phone suggested that I ‘try an urgent care’. So, apparently, this office now only sees you for routine visits. Oh, and my mother called and left a voicemail with the office on thursday 4 days ago when the issue started, which states that you’ll receive a return call within 24 hours, and she still got no call back as of today at 3:00. Clearly, this office cannot handle their patient load, and is now to the point of flat-out neglecting their current patients. My mother will obviously be finding a new primary care physician. I am also a patient at this office and will not return there either.
I agree 100% with all the other reviews on here stating that the front desk staff is rude and inefficient but the doctors are great when you can get in to see one. Hopefully you’ll never need something faxed from this office, or sent yo you in the mail, or even called back because it’s really highly unlikely to happen. I’ve been going here for several years and am considering switching practices.
I’ve been a patient at Lakeshore Medical for many years. I had to have some moles removed. Then I received a bill from Mclaren for $325!! I called both Mclaren and my health insurance and was informed it was my copay because Mclaren Macomb is listed as an outpatient service if the use a particular room at the office. It’s a “facility charge”! However if I had gone to a Dermatologist my copay would have been $45 dollars. Needless to say I cancelled the appt that was scheduled for more suspicious moles. Won’t be taken again. Just got the run around. My husband had a “mole” that was removed same office same insurance and was not charged except for $10. Quite a difference So angry about this situation. No recourse!!
I used to like this place a lot but I really need to start going somewhere else. They are so short of receptionist that I have been stuck on hold for over 40 minutes. They have caused me to miss appointments, they have not filled my psychiatric medications on time, and they can be pretty rude at times! My doctor has been great. But the whole front desk situation is a mess. Wouldn't really recommend going here, unfortunately.
