Great place to visit and go for a walk. It's not great for running because of the bridges; it can be hard on the knees. Feed the duckget a bag of food from Tractor Supply for cheap. Take the kiddos to Kid's Kingdom playground there. Playground: The playground is so nice and has coverings. Great place for children. There are cameras up as well. Restrooms: Restrooms don't have soap, but there is usually toilet paper. Picnic area: Some picnic tables have coverings, some under trees, and some in the open.
Finally, the weather was perfect for brunch at the park. My hubby afterward decided to test the waters. He was able to pull out a small carp. Dog-friendliness: Olly & Stiglitz approved. Picnic area: Clean not run down. Kid-friendly.
Amazing playground! Two areas for younger and older. Soft ground surface. Lots of balancing activities. Castle and train themes. It is lacking a decent nearby restroom.
We love walking in the park early in the morning. Such a awesome way to start the day.
Great place to take the family out just to go walk the dog. Very clean also
Grew up in Andrews as a kid. Came back to visit with my own kid and it just wasn't as "wilderness" as I remembered. There used to be tents or something like that on the island, which gave it charm, and now it's just a mound with little bushes. They cleaned it up too much or didn't invest in enough wildlife, or something...there used to be ducks all on the street nearby...I miss the rawness of it all. The fishing dock was okay, but nothing compared to sitting on the big rocks and feeling like you're out in nature, even for a little bit. I will say that I appreciated the Kid's Kingdom castle made from all the old posts with names on them. My family helped do that so it was nice to see that when they updated the park, they preserved that part. But the "government camera is watching you" signs are a bit much. I live in a way bigger city now and we don't have that level of surveillance on our stuff, yet still maintain a normal amount of safety. Maybe Andrews city council is a bit too "helicopter" for such a small town.
Love the park. Very peaceful place to run, walk or just for some peace of mind. Great kids play area.
My favorite park in Andrews to walk around the small lake and view the ducks and cranes. The park is safe for women alone to walk. There is plenty of space to have a picnic or family get together.
The park where I like to stroll around the little lake and watch the ducks and cranes in Andrews. Women walking alone are safe to do so in the park. There is lots of room for a picnic or family gathering.
Nice park, pretty clean overall. Appreciate the seating areas.
