I recently attended this facility as a patient. Although there were some BHAs that truly tried to make my stay as painless as possible, there were far more staff that seemed to care less about the mental state and reasons for patients stay. There were far too many staff that openly stated how they HATED their JOB. Secondly, the communication at this location is horrible. Patients are left in the dark about their release status and doctors, PAs, and therapist didn’t seem to have the best interest for their patients. Each doctor, PA, and therapist continually asked the same 5 questions, whenever they chose to see you. I saw my doctor, Khanna, once during my 7 day stay. The staff says each patient has a window of 5 to7 days to dedicate to their treatment, but the reality is everyone stays for 7 days or more. The food is stale, cold, and far from nutritional, and if you the patient refused to eat the vile food, it was noted in your chart as used as tactic to extend your stay. The living quarters were invasive and triggering, especially since they are co-ed both male and female slept and showered on the same floors. I spent about 5 hours a day literally watching tv; the other 3 hours were spent coloring creative group, playing games recreational group, or simply talking about our “mood” for the day. There was no in-depth treatment to treat trauma. I urge you to reconsider your decision to send a love one here or admitting yourself.
i was just released yesterday after the longest 6 days of my life. there is a system. and sometimes you have to cheat that system. i had the pleasure of being on the 2 south floor. the staff was kind you had your fair share of bad apples though. the food was god awful though and i felt as though i starved but they do have ONE vegan option! make friends with the other patients, being alone isn’t going to get you out sooner. and if you smoke BUG THEM FOR THE NICOTINE PATCH IT MAKES A DIFFERENCE!!! stay awake in group and actually share your thoughts and feelings. it all helps you get out. my insurance is incredible and i was there SIX days. you get out. as to sign a 10-20 and make sure you sign the 10-15. oh and if you’re acting a fool and cussing people out, you absolutely will go to 1 north! i wouldn’t suggest this place to anyone elderly but definitely early 20’s to 50’s. it’s an intensive care facility for the mentally ill basically. oh and they don’t count the weekends!!!
I want to give a huge shout out to Arianna, the social worker, that has worked with My Son over the period that he was at the facility. She was attentive, and extremely compassionate, as well as a great coach to helping him navigate his particular situation. I am super grateful that she was able to work directly with him with the level of care and concern that she provided to him.
I was here for 4 days, this place wasn’t meant for me and it was the most traumatic experience I went through. I was a 10-13 and I felt like I was a prisoner. Throughout the night the “nurses” would come in turn the lights on and take our blood abruptly. We were locked outside of our rooms from 7am-6pm. There is no getting out if you don’t bother the social workers constantly. No one there cares about your mental health or your problems that you are going through. The doctors briefly talk to you, and sometimes won’t be seen for days. Many of the “nurses” would make you feel like you were never going to leave. The showers are cold, bugs are infested in the rooms, and the water they supply us with had tiny bugs inside of it. The food is terrible and not very filling. My heart goes out to the human beings that are still there, missing home, waiting to see their family, and just wanting help. DO NOT GO TO THIS FACILITY, IT WONT HELP.
ATTENTION: DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES HERE. I spent 7 days in this hell hole for suicidal ideations in March of 2023. During my 7 days, I experienced abuse, filth, and absolutely no care. The staff is extremely rude and demeaning to the patients and this is a very vulnerable time in your life. The facilities are not up to standard. During my stay I was unable to shower once, the shower pressure was not enough to get the water stream off of the wall and the water was ice cold. On top of that, one of the main room bathrooms would not lock and multiple people walked in on others. The staff is completely incompetent and they are extremelly understaffed so you are never seen by a doctor. You meet with someone for 5 minutes and they prescribe you medication. They prescribed me medication but guess what, they had my name wrong. I politely corrected them that day, and the next day, the same thing. I was a little more arrogant this time telling them they are a medical facility and shouldn't have my name wrong. The third time, I became irate and shouldn't have but was frustrated at the situation. Lastly, the costs is nothing short of robbery. WITH HEALTH INSURANCE, they charged me $18144. My insurance paid them $16230.73 for their "CARE". As you leave, they make you meet with a "Financial Specialist" to get you to pay as much as possible at discharge. I paid another $300. They are still claiming I owe $1913.27 and have sold it to collections. They take advantage of poor mental health and prey on the weak. This should be criminal but instead are continuing to get referrals from hospitals.
This was the first ever behavior hospital I’ve ever been to. I got sent here back in September, after I tried to attempt to end my life. I was probably the quietest kid there, since I really did not know what to say after that whole experience. I was scared and lonely, I felt lost. The therapists or whatever didn’t really help or anything, they just said little things to try to help me out. And if I’m going to be completely honest, the kids there were the ones giving me reasons why life is valuable. I still can’t believe such amazing, fun, and funny people got here. I felt accepted with them, and it felt amazing to actually feel that for once. Everything else about the place, like the food and rooms were okay. The food wasn’t amazing, but some of it I enjoyed. The rooms at night were pretty cold, which I still don’t understand why. But with all of that, my experience there was alright.
Do not go here if you can help it. They don’t provide any form of therapy, it is essentially a holding cell for the mentally ill. You sit in the group room which is extremely filthy all day until it’s time for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. You aren’t allowed in your room at all throughout the day. Most of the staff doesn’t care about your well-being and will give you a shot and send you to Unit 1 apparently the worst unit with violent people if you show any signs of distress. You are not allowed to have any visitors and cannot speak up about mistreatment otherwise they’ll drug you to keep you sedated and transfer you to a different unit. The food is horrendous, most of the time inedible because it’s undercooked. If you have any allergies, good luck getting a dinner. They will put you on random drugs even though you haven’t spoken to a doctor. They will keep you for 7 days if you have good insurance, they love your money. There were three staff members that genuinely cared about their patients and I hope the best for them, hopefully they can find a different job at a place they will be respected. You get 10 minutes to talk to your loved ones which you have to sign a sheet to use the phone each day. I have never been to such a horrible place, it’s crazy they can call this place a behavioral stability facility yet tear every right away from you and give you no tools to help you succeed or with your mental health. I’m truly disgusted that this facility is even running. I hope that every doctor that sends their patient here gets admitted as a patient to experience what we all have had to go through. They would never recommend it again.
The web site pictures of the facility with the nice rooms and nice TV room is bogus.. I had the absolute worst experience there..the place is nasty, the food is horrible, people are locked out of their rooms from 8:00 am until 6:30 pm with having access to a bathroom when a staff member is available to unlock the door...the only access to water is a water cooler and dixie cups...the staff during the day is fine ,the staff at night needs investigating... Horrible Place
I was admitted in march of 2022 from attempted suicide. This place is a nightmare. I have been diagnosed with bipolar since I was 13. I’m not denying I deal with my own issues. When I’m scared and put into a new place though, I am very withdrawn and quiet. Most “caretakers” here would call me being agreeable and helpful. The truth is, I was doing their job for them. There were not any groups available except one, Ms. Julie’s. My fellow patients and I held each other through this mess of a place and tried to help prepare each other to not come back. “Booty juice” was regularly given to patients that needed counseling one on one to avoid doing their jobs. A sexual predator went into a girl’s room who was 19 but looked 10 and they caught him just staring at her. One night, staff moved her to our floor to separate them. The next night moved him for being disorderly to the same floor this poor girl was on. Multiple complaints were given and nothing was ever done so we formed a group to look out for each other. I have nutritional issues and needed to be placed on ensure because the only thing I would eat from the cafeteria was salad. I was supposed to receive 3 a day, ordered by the doctor. My medicine even depended on calorie intake to absorb properly. I was lucky to get one in a day or a single salad. I went three days with no ensure and no salad because the staff that did care was off duty for the weekend. The showers were freezing, the facility dirty as a barn, and we were supposed to be given clothes by the patient advocate if we had none and had laundry provided. I was lucky enough to have my clothes washed once in 14 days. My husband was bringing clothing and socks for me that I “donated” to the floor to let these poor people have socks. I was held this long due to it being my max insurance payout. I did not EVER see a doctor until my husband called and complained to a man named Stephen that I had been there for 12 days, been given another patients meds “by accident because I looked like her” and he was furious over me never seeing a doctor and their advertisement of programs that were never provided. The patient advocate was appalled with the facility and working actively with my family. She was ready to quit her job, not because she didn’t want to help, but she felt like she could make no difference and it was breaking her heart. I was given no pillow… EVER. I stuffed my clothes in a pillow case and slept on it until my angel of a roommate left and broke the rules by giving me hers after 8 days. The one and only time I lost my composure while I was there, I had a panic attack and tried to implement breathing exercises I was taught by a tech named John T. I was throughly screamed at by another tech at the time for crying and hyperventilating. I was demanded to give them my blood pressure and heart rate because they thought it was fake and would not record… they took it later after the panic attack and recorded that… all while be screamed at by a tech her brother just died. She wishes she had it as easy as me and could just cop out and try to kill herself. The next day she tried to make an example out of me and knew I was quiet and shy. She was angry I reported her and I was told she was reprimanded. She still forced me in front of any entire room when we had never had group and she is not a counselor and forced group that morning with “me leading it” It’s fine though, because I did lead that group and I brought those people together and we are still… over a year and a half later, helping each other. Lake view is a disgrace. It’s an abuse of human dignity and I know I am personally now dealing with severe PTSD that strictly came out of going to this place to “heal” This is not the place to seek help. That does not mean there aren’t others though. Do your research, don’t let this place break you, and help shut it down.
Keith, Kim and Julian are the best BHA's. Beth and Chad are the best nurses for my daughter CB! My daughter went into the facility suicidal because of our living situation. Beth and Chad makes sure that my daughter gets her rest and medications. They treat her like a human being. The BHA's attentively listens to my daughter concerns and tends to her needs accordingly. I think that the group therapy helps a lot. I was very nervous and concern about my daughter going onto this program, but hearing her voice made me less nervous. Hearing how cheerful she has been, even though our living situation is sketchy, I'm really glad that Lakeview, was here to take her in when she had her crisis. They gave her clothes to wear as well. They do allow the kids to call home everyday which helped to ease my anxiety! The main thing that I liked about thus program, is that if anybody was a bad influenced on your kid that caused them to any drug substances, LW cuts off the contact from those people so that your child can get well. Anyways, I gave them a chance. As a parent, always check on your kids in any facility as often and randomly to safe guard their wellbeing anywhere. Never trust a facility . So far, this facility is for now! Ratings: 5 being excellent and 0 being poor. SHUTTLE BUS =0! They need a shuttle bus for the parents that pickup and drop-off at the closest Marta stations FOOD=3, LW needs to step up their food game. This isn't a jail. Trearthese kids with respect! Prepare regular food dhat tastes good which includes the salads , desserts and drinks.
