Lakewood Funeral Home / Lakewood Memorial Park

Description

Lakewood Funeral Home and Memorial Park were built on a basic belief in community responsibility and service. In 1982, a funeral home was added to the cemetery, now called Lakewood Funeral Home. We offer an onsite crematory in addition to our funeral home and cemetery. Our cemetery offers beautiful gardens for interment, a columbarium and mausoleums. We're located four miles east of Modesto, on the east side of Santa Fe Avenue, and on the Tuolumne River, three quarters of a mile south from Empire and one mile north of Hughson, at the approximate geographical center of Stanislaus County. Our facility is conveniently located and easily accessible from all parts of Central California.

We are proud to be a member of the Dignity Memorial® network of more than 1,800 funeral, cremation and cemetery service providers. As such, you'll not only receive the compassionate care you expect from a locally operated establishment, but also the value you deserve from the largest and most trusted network of funeral, cremation and memorialization services. Planning the funeral services for my father was amongst the most difficult experiences I have had to live through. However, the staff at Lakewood made this experience a much easier one to bear. They were caring, empathetic, and comforting during this very difficult time. They were also very experienced and knowledgeable and helped us through the process. We are extremely appreciative for all the support given to us during this difficult time. Nadya was outstanding, helping us with choosing a beautiful plot for the family, following up with the funeral home, and being 100% present during the internment of my Father. My father’s resting place is a beautiful area overlooking the lake and vineyards at Lakewood. The cool breeze, the beautiful grounds, the peace and serenity, and the great staff at Lakewood were a key deciding factor in selecting our family’s final resting place.
Update 5/25/23; memorial weekend. Unlimited flags looks really good, BUT EXIT/ENTRANCE IS still dangerous to LEAVE/ENTER! Open up the back ENTRANCE OR HAVE CITY PUT A 3 way stop sign with flashing red light!!!!!!! Will put complaints to city next! I have a few “family members” buried here, and overall, it’s clean and well kept. I don’t see any trash anywhere and the plots I visit are always cleaned. ****Entrance is a little “hazardous” as you exit/enter the only 1 entrance to the this cemetery, and it needs to be addressed. Another safer access would be greatly appreciated as theirs another gate opening by the back right side, by the cows. At night, visibility is harsh, and I can only imagine how many near missies there as, as I experienced some myself. **** Next, is the Roses/Flowers that is left behind for the “Remembered”. I feel that if I leave them there, and within 1-2 days, it is removed and thrown away because it is “landscaping day” or it is easier for “Everything/trash/flowers/balloons/decorations” to be picked up on the same day ie: every tues or every Friday, I don’t know, but nowhere, is there a sign of “we pick up flowers on this day/time.” “””Flowers/roses/balloons””” isn’t CHEAP and is pretty EXPENSIVE, over $20-50 easily!!!! **** last but not least, the sprinklers, large metal heavy canopy covers with wheels!!!! I’ve visited a few times and I found the “wheel” of the large metal “canopy” shade cover literally over the cemetery plot!!! It’s rolled right over it and it’s pretty heavy that you need the “machine/truck” to move it away. Finding someone there to let them know the issue is impossible, as nobody works there it seems! Now the sprinklers are on, yes to water the grass. But it also is making the “plot” fade and look ugly! I actually called about that and they said they’ll look into it, asked for the space number and name, and nothing has been done. They said we can pay for the sealer but isn’t that already what the “Large amount” is paid prior to buying their “Plot”? Hope it gets taken care off and we shall see these next few months
The service and care provided to our family by the staff of Lakewood Funeral Home and Memorial Park was exceptional. Claire at the front desk was very kind and helpful. Spencer from the funeral home went above and beyond to make sure every detail was taken care of, even paying extra special attention to the needs of our young children. Amy from the cemetery was ever available and quick to assist us during the graveside ceremony. And the way Leonardo cared for our loved one’s urn during the committal was especially touching… he even made certain that all of the butterflies were where they needed to be. All of us were particularly moved by the special song Spencer played at the conclusion. Well done, Lakewood! That ceremony was exactly what we needed to celebrate a life so unique and we’ll be forever grateful.
The girl taking care of my funeral arrangements got the program wrong. 1 song was played twice one song was left out completely. They had printed 1 pallbearer. The omitted song I had to track them down so it could be played at the grave side. The room for the brunch was wonderful. I wish I had a program. Also I had to check in with the pastor on Friday for a Saturday service. Thank God I had his number from my mom's funeral a year ago.
The cemetery is beautiful with the river beside it! Brian really handled everything for my mom’s burial perfectly. Very friendly and always followed up with quick responses on any questions we had. The funeral home was very nice. We opted for the bigger chapel. We had a couple of issues come up with the funeral planner, but the manager, Spencer was very quick to reach out and take care of us to make it right. I appreciate his help to ensure high quality customer service especially during the difficult time of saying goodbye to my mom.
Tragically we lost a loved one and we did not know what to do since it had never happened to us. Lakewood Funeral Home & Lakewood Memorial Park guided us towards putting our loved one to rest. Their employees were wonderful, helpful, and kind as well professional. My family and I were so grateful they help us with everything. They explained everything to us and for that we are thankful. Thank you guys so much. We highly recommend them to anyone that needs guidance and help.
I gave Lakewood a chance with my loved ones services they over exceed my expectations. From there professionalism to there kindness. They always make enough time for the things we needed from a great slide show to assisting us with music to go with our slide show . To the beautiful program's and the cute prayer card's with our loved ones details .finishing touches that we loved thank you FATIMA for all ur assistance and generosity. We will never forget you ...
We have worked with lakewood for many years. we have many family members there, with this last family member, my mother we sat down Patricia and Amy, went over everything, very came together as planned. With everything that we had to go through her last days Lakewood took care of my mother's final trip of her life. Thank You the Turners and Morrows.
The funeral councilor doesn't call back after booking a service. We couldn't get ahold of anyone after signing the paperwork. I attended my grandpapa's funeral and the staff was incompetent and there weren't much staff anyways for this funeral service. it seemed like they only cared about you if you gave them more money for the service.
After loosing someone and going through the grieving process. Lakewood Funeral services was very helpful and made the process very smooth and easy going. I will continue to use them as they make everything easier.
