Old fashioned, antique bed and breakfast. Three floors, no elevator. Our room was clean, had a very comfortable queen bed, big closet big bathroom, beautiful wood, old fashioned steam radiators. Heat was slow, didn't come on until morning. Glad we were on 3rd floor for a Friday night. Family-run lodge and restaurant & bar with lots of seating. Reasonably priced, free parking, tasty breakfast was included in the rate. Service was a bit slow given the few guests at the time.
Took 3 hours to even get our food after ordering, after asking for a compensation for the fact they forgot our food, we were greeted by the rudest worker I’ve ever encountered in the working industry that told us they would put wheel locks on our car in response to us politely asking for some of the forgotten food to be taken off the bill. Id rate it a 0/5 stars if that was an option Food & drinks: Food was mediocre at best for the amount of time we spent waiting for it.
We made a reservation for 6:30pm on a Monday night, at least 4 hours ahead of time. When we walked in, there were no servers ready to seat us…we had to find our own table. We put in an order at 6:45 and didn’t receive our food until 8:55. Three people at our table were still without food, and we had to tell the servers that they didn’t get it. They didn’t end up getting their meals until 9:35. My grandfather requested a conversation with the cook, and he came out and was unbelievably rude. He threatened to put a lock on our tires, was completely unapologetic, and said that he wouldn’t take off any meals from our check. He ended up taking off only the three meals that were extremely late, after much debate. I would NEVER EVER recommend this restaurant to anyone and hope that they don’t treat others this way, let alone threaten them.
Quaint bed and breakfast. Comfortable bed. Large bathroom. Older decor. Very pleasant waitstaff. Small bar and restaurant on site. Live music sometimes. Free parking.Rooms: 4/5

We found this place by chance!! Coming from Virginia we had a big mix up with our pre booked hotel. After calling all the “big name” or popular known hotels who either didn’t have a room or were asking outrageous prices because it was last minute and on a weekend, we found this Gem! We booked easily online and then called to make sure they had the reservation. The staff was so friendly and quickly made our room available with no hesitation. This lodge is located in a beautiful scenic area that is so warm and welcoming. We were welcomed by a wonderful staff in the restaurant and then showed to our room, it was facing the front road but had a private parking place right by the stairs to the porch leading to the rooms. The room is very clean and the beds are 10000% better then any hotel I have ever stayed at. The bathroom is small but clean and well stocked with extra soap and shampoo! And the towels were Soft and clean, not thin like you normally get. The room did include a microwave and mini fridge. When I am in the area this will always be my first pick to stay for now on. I can’t wait to come back and explore the area more. So if you are in the area and want a comfortable quiet place to stay that won’t break your wallet, this is it! I also can’t wait to try the restaurant it seems like a popular place and the smells from the kitchen are drool worthy.
Stopped in for lunch last Sunday. The food was delicious and the service was great!Rooms: 5/5
The wife and spent a night here. It was a wonderful stay. This is a really cool rustic old hotel with great atmosphere. Our room had antique furniture and lamps which I presume has furnished that room since what I would guess was the 1920s. The room had a modern TV though, which was nice. The entire staff was super friendly. The restaurant served very good food. On Friday night there was very good musical entertainment at the bar. We really loved the breakfast buffet on Saturday morning. We were a bit thrown off by the fact that there was no front desk. Sometimes it was hard to figure out who worked there and who was a guest. We were a little confused when it was time to check in and out. That is not really a major complaint though—just an odd quirk. We hope to stay at Lakewood again if/when we are around that way again.
