I originally tried to get the popular Campground at the entrance to Presque Isle, but now that we're here and I've seen both, I'm so glad we are in Lampe. It's small but spacious, so much grassy space between sites. Just one loop of sites and each site has an extra wide paved parking area for your camper and vehicle. Building in the center has bathhouse and laundry. Cleanest laundry I've seen.
Great little campground on Lake Erie. Very clean bathroom and showers, only 40 sites. Easy in and out. Just be careful with sizing your camper to the site. We have 32 ft and just fit on the 33 ft site. I would stay again. Only here for one night. Pirate ship went by.
Made a reservation on 5/22 and the reservation system defaults to the day you make the reservation for your stay. BE CAREFUL and make sure you check your checkin and out dates when booking online. Arrived on 6/18 with no reservation, which made me a “no show” on 5/22 so I got charged the $40 rate. Plus had to pay another $40 for last night. Called Bonnie at the port authority to see if I could get a refund on the original $40 but she wouldn’t give it to me because it was around the holiday and said they could have used that site during that time, which is understandable but there was plenty of sites available last night. So they got $80 in total from me for my 19 hour stay last night. I post this to remind everyone to double check when you book your reservation because these campgrounds just want there money. It’s not about the customer anymore. Sorry for the lengthy post. Also no hot water for a shower in the bathhouse!
Super clean bathrooms, close to everything. Marina 1 min away. Main issue is the mosquitos due to being backed up to the swamper parts of the lake.Rooms: 4/5
Disclaimer: these are not photos of the campground but what is NEAR the campground. Quick walk to East Pier. Small peaceful campground. Great alternative to Sara Coin campground. Mostly boaters use this as the lampe marina is next door.Service: 5/5
Great little campground on Lake Erie. No sewer, but the sites are grassy and clean with a concrete pad. We would definitely come back.Rooms: 5/5
A wonderful campground, gracious hosts, with a keen attention to cleanliness, hospitality, and a friendly experience. Our stay over the busy 4th of July weekend was relaxing, enjoyable, and perfect! We were within close proximity to the canal, but yet still far enough away to feel like we were “camping.” The view from our back in site against the water was picturesque and all of our neighbors were pleasant, and had great views as well. I could continue to expound on the joys of our trip And how clean the restrooms were! but will let others experience the stay and see what everyone is talking about! We will be back and will choose this campground and hosts to return too! Thank you!!
Not worth $40 a night for a camp site. Noisy area, no store, no amenities and could not take a shower at bath house because there was no hot water for guest.Service: 2/5
Really nice campground, not too far from Presque Isle and the marina and pier are right there. Laid back the week we were here and everyone was friendly, there are showers and laundry available as well as fire rings. There is a nice amount of space between the sites so you can spread out. Would definitely come back
Clean area, very nice host. Lots were small, fire pits too close to the camper, and no view of the water Plants are blocking the view now. Worse Thursday Morning ever: Lawnmowers at 8:30 for 2 hours in the morning. If it is overnight, ok, otherwise, I don't plan on coming back.
