Lamport Stadium

Description

Allan A. Lamport Stadium, also known as the Den, is a multi-purpose stadium on King Street West in the Liberty Village neighbourhood of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, currently serving as the home field of the Toronto Wolfpack and the Canada national rugby league team. The 9,600 seating capacity stadium was previously used for soccer, with the playing surface dually marked for both soccer and field hockey. The stadium was named for long-time Toronto politician Allan Lamport, who was associated with sporting activities in the city.FacilityLamport Stadium was built during the winter and spring of 1974–1975 on the site of the notorious Andrew Mercer Reformatory for Women, and opened on July 1, 1975.Since construction, the playing surface has been artificial turf. The artificial turf was most recently replaced in 2008 by Dol Turf.As part of a deal with the city to convert BMO Field to natural grass, Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment spent $1.2 million adding a winter bubble to Lamport Stadium in the winter of 2009–2010. During the winter-time, the field is covered by the dome. The indoor field measures 68 metres by 105 metres, allowing a full eleven-a-side game. MLSE has a license from the city to run community soccer programs during the winter under the bubble.

Nice stadium at U of T, but I strongly recommend cushions for the hard metal benches you sit on.
A very poorly maintained field. We play soccer there and we found the nets to be broken. By broken I mean the actual metal posts are broken and put together with duct tape that was broken too. The other nets that are not metal-framed are way smaller and are not made for a 6v6 game. I will the pictures talk about the quality of the lines on the field too. Oh and if you have a friend who doubts earth curvature, take them to Lamport. The field is curved with the middle section being high and the sides low. If you are on one side of the field, you won't see what's happening with the ball on the other side because they are on the other side of the curve.
Great open space venue. Was there for Caribana events. Not much can be said other than it served its purpose.
First time there for the 2022 Caribana crowning the Queen & King. It was a great show.
I play on a recreational sport team here organized by Jam Sports. I like how Lamport stadium has security people to greet you, the washrooms are well maintained and they just installed new turf recently. Location is good too. Just remember to wear TURF shoes rounded plastic on shoe bottom and Not spikey outdoor soccer cleats that have destroyed this field in the past. Help keep this field in its current great shape!
Lamport Stadium hosted the King &Queen Mas Competition recently. I think it is a good venue for this event.
Prime location, close to subway and other public transit. Lots of free parking in the area if you know where to park. I enjoy playing on this Turf as it's still fairly new and in good condition. On a regular night, you'll find soccer and ultimate Frisbee taking place here! I believe this field is currently contracted to Stadium Sports but might be wrong! Regardless, one of my fav location to play soccer in the city!
Lamport Stadium is home field for the Toronto Wolf Pack, which is the local professional rugby team. The game was an awesome experience. The game is fast. The team regularly wins. The fans are dedicated and support the team. Ontario-based craft beer, wine and liquor companies provide a good selection of drinks for visitors to choose from. If you have kids there is plenty of affordable fast food options at the concession to keep to them happy. A good experience for all types of individuals and families.
Five stars because it was my first time watching a rugby game, we won and it was exciting. The stadium is old but it's part of the appeal; plus it's in a great part of town to go for drinks and food afterwards.
Nicely located stadium with free parking attached to it making it convenient. The problem is that its location says its on King Street while actually the parking is on the opposite side. This makes it a bit confusing to enter the first time. Otherwise, its not a bad location or facility. Toronto Argonauts Football team holds its training in that location and its free to access during their excercise time and their drills.
