Tim Hortons Field

Description

Tim Hortons Field is a multi-purpose stadium in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. The stadium is a Canadian football stadium that replaced Ivor Wynne Stadium and a soccer venue for the 2015 Pan American Games, which were hosted by Toronto and the surrounding Greater Golden Horseshoe region. During the Pan American Games, it was referred to as CIBC Hamilton Pan Am Soccer Stadium. The stadium opened in September 2014. Its original anticipated completion date was June 30, 2014.Stadium developmentInitial plans for the stadium were for it to be a principal Pan American stadium for soccer and track and field/athletics events. However, disputes between the Tiger-Cats owner, Bob Young, the organizers of the 2015 Pan American Games, and the City of Hamilton arose over the location of the stadium, among other things, including whether or not a running track should be built around the proposed stadium in Hamilton. In 2012, the 2015 Pan-Am organizers indicated that, due to financial constraints, they would be shifting their focus toward venues and "clusters" that could be used for multiple events, which might eliminate the need for a new stadium that would be used only for soccer, and they proposed another stadium on the campus of York University, tentatively named York Athletics Stadium, to host the track and field events. That, coupled with a scheduling process that had soccer and rugby sevens events on different days (thus opening the possibility that Toronto's BMO Field, which would house the rugby sevens contests in 2015 and might also be able to host the soccer contests), had the potential to put the Hamilton stadium project in jeopardy. Nonetheless, the Hamilton stadium project went forward as planned.

The first time I've seen a football since the renovations. This is a very nice stadium with lots of paid parking $20 all around, a 5 minute walk to the stadium it doesn't appear that residents provide parking on their lawns, driveways anymore. Food options inside are somewhat minimal but excellent quality and price for a sporting event. Our double burger and fries were excellent hand formed patties.
Came for the home opener. The staff were friendly like always. Felt like the weather was going to keep many of the fans away, but the stadium filled up fast My husband and I had one pepperoni and one cheese. The pizza...it was okay. It was not worth the money, but it did the job.
CFL football is a lot of fun. This stadium provides a great atmosphere. The fans are friendly and all the concessions were exceptional without being overpriced.
Great place to catch a Hamilton Tigercats game. The stadium is bright and well laid out and easy to get in and out of. They need a few more elevators or escalators for us older fans who might have some trouble walking way high up to the stands. Other than that, a great experience.
Great seats up high on the 50 yard line on the east side of stadium. If you like the sun on yourself on a hot summer day, this is where you sit. Fun atmosphere. Only gripe I had was that the computer system crashed at the concession area where we were lined up at half time. The clerk just left without saying anything or telling us to join the next line. It is a credit or debit card payment system only which I don't like. if the system crashes you should be able to use cash as an alternative.
Came here for the Argossssssss vs Cats game, pretty cool atmosphere. Very pricy for food though. Had a great time while being chirped by cats fans lol
Great stadium. But limited parking which was so darn frustrating. Hrrrrrrrr. By the time we find parking on somebody's LAWN we miss half the game.
Bathrooms are clean. Seats have good sight lines to game. Pizza was cool. Pop wasn't very cool. Parking is adequate, if you look around. Depending how far you want to walk it ranges from $15-$30. We paid $20 for a 2 block walk to the stadium.
The city n location is nice but access to Level three is terrible n dangerous with aging population. Surrounding view is Great from Level 3; but then I pay for the Event n not that view!
Had a great time at the local soccer match. It was easy to get in and out and had comfortable seating and plenty of quick concession areas. We paid $20 for parking at a nearby lot, but this seemed to be a mistake, as we saw cheaper parking at a closer lot, and some people parked on the street for free. We tried poutine for the first time.
