LeAnn Lancaster deserves more than five stars. She gave clear directions and feedback throughout the entire process, as well as showed up sharp and prepared in court. She won my case with ease and left me impressed and in awe. I can not thank her enough.
Exceptional Legal Support in Challenging Times I found myself in an emotionally challenging marriage last year, and when it came to separating, I initially aimed to do so without legal involvement. However, circumstances changed, and I needed assistance. That's when I was referred to LeAnn Lancaster and her practice. I've had the privilege of working with both Hilary and LeAnn, but it's LeAnn who has truly gone above and beyond. I want to express my gratitude for her and the entire team, including Sam and Maura. During a legal separation, dealing with child support, custody, and all the intricacies of the legal system can be overwhelming, especially for someone unfamiliar with it!! Despite having many clients, LeAnn has consistently made me feel like a priority, whenever we spoke. She and her team have made me feel safe, valued, and supported throughout this challenging journey. It's like being part of a caring community of professionals who genuinely want the best for me. When it was time to go to court, I was SCARED! I didn't know what to expect. LeAnn's confidence and expertise shone through. Her preparation and professionalism were evident, and I felt reassured. I want to address some negative comments I have seen online about LeAnn and her practice. There's no way she should have 3stars. Though my case is not yet closed, I felt compelled to share my experience in this review. I can't stress enough the impact LeAnn and her team have had on my life. Do not use this law firm! They are the WORST! If I could give zero stars, I would! Shortly after paying my $5000 retainer, Hilary St Louis became ill and was no longer able to work. Communication with the firm was almost non-existent and nothing was done in my case beyond our initial meeting. Now, several months later, my husband and I have called off our divorce and they are refusing to Give my money back. They are thieves! There are many good attorneys out there, go elsewhere!
I was represented by Lancaster & St. Louis for nearly 3 years as a client. My recommendation would be to look elsewhere for legal representation. A quick look at the owner responses to negative google reviews will tell you all you need to know about how this firm operates. If only the same attention was paid to their casework, perhaps clients would have a more positive experience. Feel free to read on for more about more specific experience. Their performance as my legal team was haphazard, sluggish, and emotionally draining –on their best days. For those reading through the reviews debating whom to trust with your representation, please note it seems that this legal practice does not prioritize cases for single fathers, and I urge you to look at the patterns within the reviews for this firm. As a single parent, I’m familiar with the hardships and stressors court can bring and this team failed to provide me the support I needed in one of my most difficult times – resulting in time lost with my son, financial losses, and unnecessary emotional turmoil throughout this whole process due to simple carelessness. For other reviews referencing this firm’s professionalism on gossip amongst the court circuit, unfortunately I was accidentally copied on emails between Hilary and opposing counsel; a lengthy back and forth of both attorneys disparaging and making fun of court staff, fellow attorneys and even judges. As an example, Hilary St. Louis was exchanging emails with opposing counsel regarding my case. As part of this exchange, Hilary, on the topic of Judge Phil Berger Jr,. referred to him as "that MFer". This is hardly the behavior I expect to see from someone representing myself and the best interests of my son. In nearly 3 years, this firm accomplished very little, other than fanning the flames of what was already a high-conflict case. Subsequently, I secured new counsel and was able to resolve ALL outstanding issues within 6 months. There was a stark difference in professionalism and maturity. ----------------------------------- Update: As for "providing leniency with payments on your delinquent account" unfortunately a client / customer cannot make payment without an invoice. The firm consistently failed to bill on a monthly basis. Often times the firm would go several months without providing an invoice then after providing one would demand payment IN FULL immediately before performing any additional work; often times at critical junctures of my case. At no time was I delinquent AND this was despite receiving no child support from my ex. In fact, the firm failed to make any progress re: child support; only to discover that another state had jurisdiction... after 3 years. This lack of attention to detail directly cost me several thousands of dollars. As for terminating representation, the assertion that it had anything to do with billing or finances is completely false and a rather sad attempt to save face. Leann Lancaster stated it was because I was "dissatisfied" and am happy to provide that email. In reality, Leann Lancaster could not answer a simple inquiry regarding the length of a suspended criminal sentence which I received as a direct result of following the firm's legal guidance every step of the way. It was discovered that Leann Lancaster failed to properly proofread the draft court order before it was entered again, lack of attention to detail. After asking for an answer multiple times via email, Leann attempted to call me in a clear attempt to not leave a paper trail, talking in circles and not providing an answer. When this attempt failed, Leann Lancaster's next move was to terminate representation putting the firm's lack of accountability on full display. Thankfully, new counsel was able to quickly have the suspended sentence removed entirely; quite a contrast from Lancaster and St. Louis.
LeAnn Lancaster is the worst lawyer ever. She wasted my money and time. Pushed everything off to another date time after time. She had me and my children put out in the streets during the covid 19 and did nothing. Than wasted more time and money and never got anything settled. Actually she mess up my case, i lost everything. Never use this attorney, all they care about is money!! Then they will kick you to the curb like yesterday's trash and not even give a reason!! Not to mention, no response when asking questions. You also go nothing put in writing,so what ever you say you accomplished,does not hold up. Worst worst lawyer ever
Love is often joyous; however when it sours, it can become quite painful. After 14.5 years of joy and happiness, I recently found myself in a marriage that had soured. Unsure of what I needed to do to regain my happiness, I reached out to Hilary St. Louis of Lancaster and St. Louis Attorneys At Law. During my initial phone call, Hilary gathered information from me and then explained how she’d be able to help. I felt very confident that I had found an attorney who clearly understood my situation and would be able to help. At the end of that first conversation, she advised me to take a little time to be certain I wanted to move forward with my plans. During the two weeks I took to be sure I wanted to move forward, there was never a feeling of any pressure for Hilary to gain my business. Following my “time to think “ I scheduled a follow-up appointment to officially get the ball rolling. Hilary walked me through the process, provided options and explained each of the option outcomes in detail. I left that meeting with a clear understanding of what was to come and what I needed to do. The advice she had given me, positioned me well to have successful negotiations with my spouse. I had one additional follow in her office to review the documents she and her team prepared. We also talked about the immediate next steps, and those necessary in the future, needed to finalize a divorce. Separation and divorce are never without emotion, but Hillary made the entire process as painless as possible. Professionalism, compassion and affordability are of the many reasons that I recommend the Law Offices of Lancaster and St. Louis to assist you in times where love has gone sour.
Hilary and her paralegal Sam worked with me to resolve a non-traditional family law issue involving child custody and support. Over the years, I consulted with multiple attorneys in Cabarrus and Mecklenburg counties but she was the ONLY attorney who was willing to go the extra mile by doing the back end work to ensure that I received the most favorable outcome for my situation. Her communication with me was empathetic, direct, responsive, and she compassionately resolved my case as expeditiously as possible. Highly recommend!
I went for weeks hardly hearing anything out of my attorney. I’m not sure what she actually did as me and my ex are the ones who came up with the agreement in mediation. I had to advise my attorney her draft was full of simple spelling mistakes. Which I was charged to fix. My lawyer was not even aware of my court dates. I had to tell her when they were. We never actually went to court because my ex and I figured it out on our own, the lawyer essentially did nothing. Then when it’s done, I get a bill saying there’s almost 900 dollars that I have left in escrow, but they are going to keep it. This is unlike literally every other lawyer around. She charges 4k to essentially file a document. If you use her, read all the fine prints and prepare to do literally all the work for your case. They are going to bill you hundreds just for email correspondence. I advise finding another lawyer personally. At the end of the day it’s my fault as far as money for not slowing her down so I could read everything because she pushes you fast to sign everything. Now I know why. Just feels like a bad business practice to keep money from parents who are already struggling when she knows exactly what’s going on in your life. But hey. Enjoy that new purse I bought you I guess. Edit And apparently if you want the details of your child support agreement broadcast to the world also use this lady.
I'm so grateful for the services of Lancaster and St. Louis. Hilary stepped into my case mid-way through a divorce when I felt way over my head and didn't know where to turn. With genuine interest for me as a client, she took time to thoroughly understand my concerns and my needs, and she educated me on the legal process. Her communication was always timely and thorough with great attention to detail. She anticipated potential issues and knew the best way to respond as situations arose. She finished my divorce process quickly and with ultimate professionalism. I felt so much more at ease having her representation. Hilary and her staff are empathetic and highly competent, a perfect combination for anyone experiencing a difficult emotional situation like divorce. This lawfirm was terrible! They didn’t listen to me at all. They took my money and basically told me what to do. I was never heard but basically told to be a robot. There was no advocating. They took the simple route and went with the flow. They didn’t fight for me whatsoever. You can’t talk to them after 3 pm almost any day and their paralegal screens the calls so you probably won’t talk to them on most days. If it’s the weekend, your totally in your own! Appalling. 4K retainer to be left out of your own case! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! They don’t CARE ABOUT YOU.
