Great place to bring an energetic and playful pup. Large majority of dogs are friendly, owners are responsible. There are a few grass patches in the back but it is mostly dirt so be prepared for a dirty dog post play.
We like taking our dogs here whenever we are around the area. Well fenced area with water bowls and bags available for use. The site is always clean and well maintained. Owners and dogs are nice and respectful. Our pups love it here because of the traffic of people and the amount of dogs that come to the park!
Nice accessible dog park. The proximity to 2 baseball diamonds keeps it well lit in the summer. Lots of places around to walk your furry friend.
For an urban setting, this is a nice, fenced-in dog park. The dogs have a decent amount of space to play and explore. The owners that frequent this dog park tend to spark casual conversation. I removed a star because the park is mostly covered in gravel and dirt, which is less than ideal for a rainy day.
This dog park is great! There's 2 gated entry so pooch's don't accidentally slip out, they have poop bags in case you forgot one, garbage bins for poop and water dishes for the hot days. So far most of our experiences here have been very pleasant, the owners have been very nice and the dogs playful and fun. There have been a few times where unsocialized or slightly aggressive dogs have been at the park. We always leave immediately to avoid any issues if this is the case, and usually other owners follow suit. However usually our visits are very fun, entertaining and tiring for the doggo! It can get very muddy in the spring and early winter so wear rubber boots then, on the other hand in the winter it can get really icy, so wear spikes or walk very carefully!!
I love this park. It is very well kept with many bowls that you can fill with water and large water bottles I have no idea who fills them but huge thanks to those people!. There is double doors which is super important for me! I live closer to Hampton park but it's got single doors so every time a new dog comes in I always get scared that my dog can escape. But I dont have that fear anymore, and I am willing to drive a bit extra because of ti. I love the location too! I would go with my partner and one of us would stay and watch our dog and the other would go and get coffee from the Lansdowne market/ Aroma. And there is a comfy little table to sit at and relax. On the minus side- I would expect for more dogs to be there for the location and parking can be very tricky in the area. But overall I am super happy with it! It is, in my opinion, the best dog park in Ottawa. Now I hope my positive review brings in more dogs ;
Showed up for a small dog meet up. It was a good turn out! Very hot dry days it seems to get really dusty, but otherwise it was clean and the people were nice. The small dog meet up can be a little off when everyone brings their lil guys and then someone who wouldn't otherwise know brings in a big pup. Hopefully people notice this in the reviews/word of mouth so it can keep happening. I think it's biweekly on Sundays?
Was there today, and there were no other dogs. Also signs on the only fully fenced-in areas with “no dogs allowed” signs on them. So, confused about how this is supposed to be an off-leash dog park.
lots of photos to show what is what in this park: friends of Landsdowne dog park on fb. All good parks should have: double gates, trees for shade, a quiet area where old, young or just shyer dogs can go, bushes , benches not close to the gate, to break up chases if a dog needs to duck behind something. Water access.
Great off leash park. My dog enjoyed playing with the other dogs. Responsible owners for the most part. Not much poop on the ground and generally well behaved dogs.
